Hi people. While I was ill recently I played DEAD SPACE again. I like this game so why not to design machine/weapon I'd find useful on Ishimura. Here it is. Concept,modeling, texturing is mine. Its just rough final rendering and hope I get some time in following days to complete it by some art rendering.By the way. Thanks for comments.

First things first - overall appearance is very good and strikes with the vision of being powerful and useful.

The grip however could use some more improvement.It looks like it just hangs there on magic.Some extra connection points at the top and bottom to integrate it more into the rest of the body are recommended.
The "BE CAREFUL" sign is a great touch that adds a little bit of humor to that dangerous looking apparatus.
However this type of design is commonly used in sci-fi weaponry (The "pincer" type where the energy is build up between two rods) which makes it a little less original.

The first thing i thought when looking at this was a laser welder. I can easily imagine the "cylinder" rotating and emitting a constant stream of plasma/laser. Besides, it goes with the miner's tool theme ya got there.

My immediate thought was the "plasma cutter" from dead space, then I saw your description. I like this one a lot though, looks like either a "gatling SMG" or "Revolver" weapon, or perhaps do those 5 barles all fire at once?
