Hi, I'm a teacher currently teaching my students Greek mythology. Mind if I show them this picture to depict Ares?

Itβs pretty funny because the Spartan patron god and the one who was worshipped in their three national festivals was Apollo, who is the god of music, the arts and the sun

You're welcome. I really like the piece. I especially liked how you made his legs practically covered - for some reason, seeing the tiny kilts/tunics artists usually put in ancient Greek warrior images really bugs me, so this was great.

Well, those "kilts" are accurate though, Β it's basically a shirt with a "skirt" connected to it beneath the armor, the armor usually had some small leather pieces (like in the picture) or ropes hanging down, sometimes, there were small metal disks in the leather as decor and when the soldier walked, the made noise, the more the soldiers, the more Intimidating the noise, though it was more used later by the roman armies, plus, there are meanders at the bottom of the "kilt",around the shield and the bottom of the cape Β making the soldierΒ look better.

Hey mate, are you doing the artwork for the 'Ares book' Kickstarter campaign, or did they misappropriate your art?

Hey there,
Yeah, I painted it for that project.
Although it's not cool my signature is hidden and my name is not even mentioned. I'll email him about that.
Thanks for letting me know!
