Busy, huh?
I'm glad. People really like it.^^ I guess while drawing it and looking at it the whole time gives you the feeling, that something doesn't look right. (They're cute, aren't they? x3 I just love birds and I couldn't stand if I couldn't draw them well. I wanna cuddle them, too. x3)
Yeah, I really wondered how I could do a simple, but good background...and I saw this one brush and it worked quite well. Then, I just added a few sparkles just for fun. xD
Haha, yeah. His face and especially his grin are the things I love the most about the picture.^^

Yup, plenty of tests and exams... four more to go, but then holidays will start.
I guess... But you don't have to worry someone else will notice. At least I don't really do. xD (They're very cute! They both look perfect - just like you'd expect it from KID's doves, haha.)

Wow, thanks a lot for the comment/critique and the suggestions. I really don't get a lot of those.

Luckily, I always keep the psd-file for exactly these kind of things. I tried to follow your suggestions and I hope I got them right. In the original sketch, his eye was actually more up but I thought that looked weird as well, so I changed it. Still looks a little weird for me...
Changing the lineart itself was a little tricky, but I think I managed quite well. Changing the colours was quite easy.

Funny, I had originally planned to put some petals in the folds of his clothes, but decided against it...not sure why, maybe I just forgot it? Changed that little bit now as well and added some confetti there as well. He was actually meant to be the center of the shower, but I guess it just doesn't look like it the way I drew it.

Something more like this, is what I was thinking. Or maybe with wider eyes? He looks more mad than irritated/exasperated/etc, with the correction--and the upper lid needs to touch the iris on the right side more, I think, or it looks crooked, too...

Well, I tried that now and I think it's gotten better. I also checked the manga for references and tried to make it look like there.
If this doesn't look okay, I don't really know anymore...

Hmmm...no, the eye is too squeezed (if that's the correct word).
The left eye should be wider than the right eye. He should look neither of these, not sure what the correct word is...
And the position of the eye should be the same on both sides. It might not look like that...so I guess I have to lower the eye a little bit. And I think I'll widen the left eye vertically and squeeze it more together horizontally. Maybe that looks better.

All I did in my manip was raise the left eye and eyebrow up more and try to err, squish the right side of the right eye into proportion. Nothing else. (And was dA actaully working on your end? I posted the reply and then dA wouldn't quit timing out on me. I've been trying back every ten minutes until now and it wouldn't load any dA pages. ><)

And yes, widening the left eye vertically was what I meant by "wider eyes". Sorry if that was unclear. ;_;

I think the biggest problem with the right eye is that it looks like a left eye. You know how it usually slopes down at the outer corners? Like "ヘ"? Well, the one on the right side of the page looks reverse of that. Also, it is at the wrong angle a bit.

By which I mean, we CAN look that far left, but it takes effort and can be painful (and lead to damage, even. I have experience with straining my eyes through doing this, actually. >> Not advisable.)

Weird...totally didn't look like that. (And yeah...dA was working. But I had that problem around an hour before we got into this discussion.)

I'll look at it a bit more.

It's true that we wont do that in real life, but if you look at the manga images, it is often drawn like that.

A little, but the image is still not helping much.^^°
