Yeah, I know, I said I wasnt gonna upload it right away, but I figure this is now as good a time as any to warn people about the future contents of this novel
So without further adeu, allow me to fill you in.

I used to be pretty bad at comic setups too, back in the days of Kindergarten. I always drew comics about Mr. Butterfly and his antics with Mayor Smiley, Ninja, Horse Shoe and the rest of the gang. x3
You never knew what to read first. :1
But now, after learning for long time through practice, feedback, and no formal training whatsoever, I think I can safely say that my comics read fairly well. :3
Course, hats just my story and everyone is different. x3
I suggest drawing out some mock up comics, showing them to people you KNOW will be honest with you, and have them tell you EXACTLY what they think in regards to panel and dialogue setup. :3

The backgrounds are quite nice, I just think that objects like the swingset could be as much as hastily shaded to look like something other than a block just sitting on the page

What I'm saying is: the background you have, trees and things, are nice and blurry and don't distract the reader's attention from the main piece, but rather compliment it C:
But the other part of the background, the buildings and swingset in this case, seem very hard, blocky, and distracting :C
I think a quick and easy (even sloppy works!)gradient shade on said sharp objects should fix it up right quick! C:
