Description As you may have heard on this submission , ~revell and I are having a bit of issues with our characters' names.

These are some images from notes as well as concepts for our characters and the dates that they are written. I need to write the correct dates on the things I write, otherwise it bothers me. I think it might be because I have a bit of OCD.

First, I'll talk about Adam.

We decided to use the name of Adam around August 20th, 2007. He was introduced to the story out of necessity, due to the plot.

According to Wikipedia, Adam Monroe was introduced in the episode 'Four Months Later...' on September 24th, 2007 ( the original air date ).

We were not happy campers.

Luckily, our Adam looks different from theirs and has a different ability.

Now to Lucus.

I am not very good at coming up with names, so ~revell decided to try to help me. Two of the names that she threw at me were Nathan and Lucas. I liked them both and couldn't decide between the two. So I used them both. Nathan is his first name and Lucas/Lucus is his middle. He is terrible at spelling, so he spells it as "Lucus" and so that has become his official name. It is his, anyway! Bonus fact, the reason why it was spelled like that in the first place is because I didn't know how to spell the name.

He liked going by Lucus, so that is what he is referred to. We learn later why.

I needed a last name, so I went to Wikipedia for help. The list of random names are the names I jotted down from there and perhaps a few other sources, but I don't recall. I hadn't really heard of the name Bennett before and decided that I liked it for him. In my opinion, both Nathan and Lucus go well with that last name.

I told ~revell about it and she informed me that Nathan/Bennet is a pairing from the show Heroes, which I never watched. I thought about it for a moment, but decided that it wasn't a big deal. It was just a pairing, right? I wasn't aware of the deal with Claire at that time. Besides, I really liked the name Nathan Lucus Bennett.

So between Adam Lancaster and Nathan Lucus Bennett, we might have a bit of an issue there. Hopefully not, but you never know. This should help prove that we didn't copy...

As you can see, this was back before Warren Hayes had a name and we referred to him as "[War Hero]". Also, Robert is supposed to have black hair.

The Pez bit was just for fun. I posted it because I felt it would help serve as proof.

I really don't think you guys will have problems with names... but I guess you never know.

Yeah, I know. But just in case it does, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I've seen people complaining about and comparing Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, even though the stories aren't alike at all. So...

Thanks for the comment and support!

True.. but sometimes I worry you guys are drawing attention to the comparison yourselves.

People are kind of stupid when it comes to that sort of thing.

*nodnod* Yeah, I am aware of that. At this point it's mostly me and that's probably due to my paranoia. We weren't really worried about it until one day when Dal saw something about the pairing "Sylar/Adam" and she was like "...Adam?" That's when we started getting kinda worried there...

Basically.

Oh well. I know the stories are totally different. Ours is more relaxed in general and is more centered around physiological elements. Yeah, there's abilities, but that's actually just an aspect of it. They're not so "OMG SPARKLY" as they are logical, which I love. I have to thank Dal for that. At first it sounded kinda boring, but it's one of the coolest things I have worked with. Figuring out how it would work, how it would affect the body, and what they could actually do is just too awesome.

Aww Yeah But people are always going to compare things... and it's not always a bad thing... some people might say your story is like Hero's without all the plot holes.

Your story is very different all and all.

That's true. Again, we can blame my paranoia for this. Oh, that would be pretty awesome! A comparison like that would probably make me rather pleased. A lack of plot holes would be a great thing to accomplish, but it will be difficult to not have any. We're working really hard on this project, though. So we might be able to pull it off.

Thank you! I really appreciate that! I want nothing to do with their show and I hope that people realize that when they watch ours. I don't base anything I do with my characters off of Heroes. Any similarities, whether it be names or concepts, are completely unintentional and a lot of the time we used them before it ever shows up on Heroes. I'm slightly nervous about ever watching season 1 or 2, because there might be more there and in that case, I can't even claim that it was used in our project first, because it probably was aired before we got to it, but I had never even seen the show!

*mutters for a moment* Ahem.

And just as a side note, my negative feelings towards the show has nothing to do with the cast. If I had to pick a favorite thing from Heroes, it would be their awesome cast. I love their cast, honestly. It's the "plot" that I don't like.

True true. Everything has "plot holes" or at the very least a different direction that a story could have taken...

You're welcome. People might, you never really know, but at the same time most of the fans seem to except that it isn't very goo plot wise.

Yeah, the cast is pretty cool.
