Description Well this is what you see. I wanted to try something different for once with some textures. It's not meant to be anything other than what you see it as. Leave a comment if you like it, or not.

Hi Phaticon,
Love this color combination.
On a different note, I am an aspiring graphic artist -- teaching myself as I go. However, I cannot figure out how to incorporate the effect you use here... around the image -- the framing effect that almost looks like water damage. I would really appreciate the help, if you have time.

Thank you! I once started out the same way teaching myself as I go. The framing effect is just some textures that are lightened, you can achive a somewhat close effect to this using grunge brushes, or some stock art. You can get some nice texture stock art from SXC.hu , some nice pixel patterns from K10K.net . SXC is free to sign up for an account, and K10K is just free. If you need anything else I can explain in more detail via a note.

hey... i don't really use my deviant account these days. i have to remember to come back to check this thread! Anyway, I have another graphic art question but before I even ask you, Id like to first ask if it's okay that I get your advice on it. I know you may be a busy guy... so if you can't, i totally understand.

Well it's fine. I said I would try to help out in anyway that I can. Shoot me an email and we can talk about what you need help with. Yes i'm a busy person, but I have time to help others out. My email is on the front of my DA page. I have helped plenty of other people on DA before, so I don't mind. I never got much help when I was starting out so I know what its like.

eeek! that's awesome :>
...send you a note, how so?
can i email you?
the question i have involves a graphic that was emailed to me (i competed in a logo competition, and i was told I had a great shot to win [i submitted my concepts early] but they chose someone else). And so, I can't figure out how to replicate an effect from the image that was chosen.
