Description
Some HeartsA tall, dark haired beauty walked down the hall in her dancing clothes. She really wished that she did not have to dance for the royal family of Egypt. She was nervous of her dancing for the first time in her life. "Why me?" she thought as she entered the Throne Room through a side entrance.
She wore a purple linen dress with a slit on each side mid way above her knees. The silver belt and bracelets and the long purple linen scarf added to her movements and gave the illusion that a dragon flew around her this was how she received the name Purple Dragon. The dress brought out the full color of her amethyst eyes. It hinted to the reason why her name was Amethyst. She looked up towards the thrones, the Pharaoh Faithfire sat with his queen Risena and their two sons Yami and Seto watched the leopard trainers and their three charges. She smiled; the leopards were so lovely to watch in her mind.
When the leopards ended their performance, everyone applauded and the leopards bowed and cleared the floor. Amethyst flinched when a man announced her arrival, "Here we go." She sighed and walked out to the center of the hall. It was silent. She was nervous until the enchanting music of her favorite dance called the "Moon's Heart" began. As it played, she only thought about the dance and nothing else. When it ended she bowed and the music changed to the "Sun's Sand Rider". She spun and bowed and applause echoed the entire hall. For one brief moment, her eyes met those of Prince Yami's. She looked away quickly and smiled, "Ohh!"
"What people say about you is true. Your dancing is beautiful and it's impossible to your eyes off you for a second," Pharaoh Faithfire said in his warm but hard voice. The Pharaoh was warrior built with a strong body. His black hair had started turning gray in places but the thing that drew her attaché was his dark green eyes; witch held knowledge. This made Amethyst blush, "Thank you, my lord. You are very kind," she said, bowing again.
"You do dance like a fighting dragon," Queen Risena said in her honey smooth voice. The queen looked tired; there were rumor that she was sick and may be dying, but she was still beautiful. Her dark brown hair fell past her shoulders and her dark sappire eyes shown in the last rays of sun coming through the archway.
"Thank you, my Lady," Amethyst said with another bow. Grinned to herself and she felt good for the first time this evening.

Later that night, Amethyst sat in a small garden filled with colorful flowers. She was soaking her feet in the small pond at the center. Amethyst was humming to herself and watching the night sky.
She'd didn't notice that she wasn't alone until he spoke, "May I join you?"
She flinched and looked up to see Prince Yami. His eyes matched his mother's and the night sky, but they also held a hidden knowledge. Her breathe caught for a moment and her brain was racing. Why is he out here ….and talking to me??? "Of course," she said very uncomfortable now.
He slipped his shoes off and sat next to her and slipped his feet into the cool water with a sigh of relief. "I need this. My feet have been killing me all day," he said. His dark hair barely covered his ears and she saw a small scar on his neck. It looked as if someone had tried to cut him a long time ago. He didn't notice her stare as he watched the peacefully sky.
They sat there in silent for an hour. She liked it, it made her feel safe. Sighing she and got up, "Good night, my lord. It was nice to sit with you."
He smiled, "Good night, Purple Dragon." he said and watched as she walked away. She had a hard life, he thought. He'd notice the scars on her arms and a long one that ringed both her ankles. He had a guess that under her bracelets there were scars. He sighed. This woman was different from any other he'd encountered and he'd met his share. Hearing footsteps behind him he turned to find Seto.
His bright blue eyes were worried, "So what do you think of the dancer?" he asked. Seto was sharper than half the people in the palace, but he lacked people skills most of the time.
"She's had a hard life, but she is still kind and knows how to fight. I could tell she carriers a dagger in her dress." and somehow she's at peace when she dances. That tells me she finds happiness in I, he thought standing up. Then had another thought. His brother was right next to him and they hadn't had that much fun that day. Smiling he pushed his brother into the pool.
Seto surfaced and smiled, it was on. He grabbed Yami's leg and pulled him in. "Ha!" he laughed when Yami surfaced.
Amethyst, who had forgotten her book by the pool was walking back into the garden. When she entered and located her book she heard splashing. Confused she looked at the pool and saw the princes having a water fight. Yami saw her a few moments later and Seto noticed as well. "I'm sorry. I-I forgot my book, I'll just leave." She blushed, dropped her book and turned and ran, Ahhhh, forgetting her book all together.
"That went well." Seto said and Yami glared at him. He sighed and they both got out of the pool before someone else found them.

In the morning the pharaoh asked her to stay. She agreed and smiled when she was alone. Maybe my luck is changing and …. I do like the name … Purple Dragon. Ha! Ok at least this family is kind. She thought and refused to think about the past. When she stood up, Prince Yami stood watching her. She was frozen. He was taller than her by several inches and his eyes glared right through her..
"Are you alright?" he asked, she heard the concern in he's voice.
"I'm fine, just thinking." She said. Why is he talking to me again? I'm nothing special.
Yami smiled, "I heard you agreed to stay. Thank you."
"You asked happily for me to stay?" she asked shocked. He nodded. "Why?" she whispered not looking at him.
"To see you dance again and to gave this back to you." He said and handed her, her book back, and to you in your calm and happy state. He could tell she was very confused and worried.

That evening after dinner in the garden, she was just practicing a new dance she'd seen and was putting new touches on it to make it her own. She felt like someone was watching her. After a while she was finally fed up and yelled irritated, "Would whoever's watching me come out? It's distracting."
Prince Yami stepped from behind a pillar, "Sorry, I thought you wouldn't notice if I watched," he said scratching the back of his head.
She looked at him as if he was insane, "I'd prefer, if you want to watch, to see you. I don't like being spied on," she said and went back to dancing.
He moved over and sat on a small bench and watched. She moves so gracefully. How? When she finished. He smiled she seemed happier and something else, like nothing could bother or hurt her. That's when he noticed how much he felt for her. Ohh Crap, Ahhhhh! He put his head back together and noticed she was looking at him with a look of concern.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
He noticed her eyes were watching him and he saw a hidden secret. "I'm fine." He said shaking his head, "I just remembered I have to go see my mother." He stood-up and walked swiftly towards the royal rooms.
She watched him go. Amethyst had noticed that the entire time he been watching after coming out he hadn't taken his eyes off her. He's different; she thought and left the garden. She wasn't sure why but she liked being around him.

For several weeks after that he spent a lot of time with his mother. She had gotten sicker. But it wasn't until she had to perform one night at dinner that she saw him again. She'd somewhat made friends with Prince Seto and learn if you got to know him he wasn't as bad as people thought.
She saw the worry in his eyes and wanted to eases some of it. She went over to the band and changed the song and walked to the center of the room. As the music played she started dancing, The Healing Heart, and when it was over the music stopped. She danced without music to the last dance her mother had taught her before she'd lost everthing. This dance is called Some Hearts it is the only song she refused to have music to and she never opened her eyes during it. She didn't need to. When she finished, she opened her eyes and bowed. The entire room was silent in awe. She gazed into Prince Yami's eyes and saw the flame of hope she'd hoped to sparkle.

Later, as she laid her feet in the pool again, Amethyst watched the water. Her breathe quickened when she saw Prince Yami's reflected, standing behind her. She stared at him as he watched her, for what seemed like eternity "My lord is there something I can do for you?" she asked finally turning to face-up to him.
He nodded and helped her up, "What was the name of the dance you did without music?" he asked. His eyes still held that flame of hope but it was strong now. "My mother is feeling better." He smiled.
"It's called Some Hearts and that's great news." Amethyst said.
Some Hearts? He thought and smiled.
Amethyst was debating in her head about telling him about what had happened to her. But before she could decide anything he pulled her into a mind-blowing kiss. She was shocked. Beyond shocked. This can't be happening, he's a prince! But I do love him. She was happy and slowly kissed back. When he stopped to breathe her held her close, never wanting to let go.
She smiled and whispered, "Some Hearts get lucky some times, even hearts like mine."
He heard her and smiled, "Some hearts indeed get lucky some times."
