Description
Pokemon Folder- phill-art.deviantart.com/galleβ¦I always wanted to design pokemon in a realistic way, it's a fun challenge. I didn't want to go the approach did, where some of his realistic pokemon designs drifted from the original look of the pokemon too much, but I still appreciate his work. Plus it's more challenging keeping loyal to their original look, especially for the pokemon that don't look like any animals in the real world.
(Many more designs to come!)

Just found my favorite realistic Pokemon artist! *watches* THIS is what I like to see in realistic Pokemon, sticking as true as possible to the original design of the creature. I can look at this and go "Yes, this is what my Emboar would look like IRL!"

Why do we need so many fire/fighting pokemon?

I think it was to deal with the Rock-type weakness, since the early Gyms were often Rock-type Gyms, or there would be Rock-types early on.

but the gym leaders in Pokemon black and white don't use rock types so they didn't have to make Tepigs evolutions part fighting.

True. I guess they just felt the combination worked for the Pokemon.

Yeah I guess because fire/fighting is a fun word to say but they say the new fire starters evolutions might be part dark

HOLY CRAP THIS IS PURE AWESOMENESS!
I agree, I like realistic Pokemon that are actually true to their drawn form. Great job with the details

Great work!
Your approach of sticking closely to the pokemon's original design is the one I like to take when drawing them realistic, too

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL emboar -the technique to make the short, stiff hairs on the body is extremely effective and renders the texture wonderfully!
