Description This started out as practice on painting hair and clothes - and it turned out interesting so I decided to post it. The background in from 1010 and the wing's are Sarsa's - the bizarre maypoll dress comes from my own fevered imagination! It's nice to do a fairy too - they're always fun.

Thanks for looking.

I can't believe you have those! You pictures always look like you whip 'em in to good shape - but I am relieved to hear that you have a few rebellious ones!

There are always bad pics which can be rescued with postwork magic, but there are also some evil pics beyond any rescue option...

Thank you. It isn't easy painting the clothes, but it's fun and you do get better through practice. So far I am being quite unadventurous, but soon I hope to start being braver.

Funny isn't it - a few buds on trees, some birdsong and all my pictures are nature packed - guess I'm just a fan of nature!

It took me literally years to try painting clothes, I think now I have a grip on photoshop it's easier for me. Give it a go sometime. Thanks for the links btw - I didn't reply to that message or I would have lost the post!

LOL I'll give it a go sometime... Still have to get a handle on my Wacom... so used to using a mouse that it's hard to get back used to a pen. lol I don't think I have any drawing talent left since I've gone digital. lol

Oh and YVW!

Yeah, it's really strange going from mouse to pen. I'm getting better, but sometimes I just ditch the pen and move on with the mouse! It's bizarre trying to retrain myself;

Well I’ve sat here trying to think of something sarcastic to write and.......

I’ve failed because......

This is beautiful.

I the hair, the dress, the pose, the composition… just wonderful.

The only area that looks a little amiss [and I hate mentioning it as you’ll accuse me of being a perv] is the shading and highlight around her breasts. I also noticed that on your Persephone deviation.

I hope you take it as constructive criticism as I really am blown away by this one Nikki....... and [as you probably already realised] it takes a lot to knock my sarcastic nature out of its stride.

Beautiful

Ah... so that's what it takes! Glad you liked it and thanks for the Robski. I may try to work on that highlighting - I was getting a bit slap dash at that point!

And of course I take it as constructive criticism.

(And of course I think you are a perve )

Yes definitely a …… umm I actually think I might have more done by you than any other artist.

The qualities that set this piece apart from some of you other work is that you have managed to find suitable tonal qualities in the background to make the character more realistic and interact better with her environment.

As well as exhibiting a greater level of realism, you have also demonstrated a greater maturity. I do find the baby faced cherubs with an adult woman’s body slightly disturbing...... this picture is all the better for having a more mature and genuinely sensual subject...... a young woman approaching her full bloom..... very appropriate with the Spring theme of the image.

Did I mention what a wonderful job you had done with the hair??? The cascading ringlets look fantastic.

Superb Nikki

Gosh I got all serious for a moment there. Right here’s a fairy tale joke to go with your

Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self assured princess, happened upon a as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant, lush meadow near her castle.

The hopped into the Princess' lap and said:
" Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome Prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young Prince that I once was and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in yon castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so."

That night, the beautiful, young princess contemplated the day’s events and chuckled to herself:
"Bollocks to that!"
As she dined on a repast of lightly sautΓ©ed legs, seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce.

She's a smart Princess. An onion cream sauce sounds really nice...

I know what you mean about the cherubic models - one of the limitations with Poser and base figures to combine clothes. I wont bore you with the ins and outs but now I'm painting I will be able to use more appropriate body shapes, which I didn't use before because they are harder to fit Poser clothes to.

Glad you liked the hair - about halfway through I thought I'd buggered it up completely, but persevered and it came good in the end. As usual I had no clue what I was doing and was winging it.

Aha - my plan to dominate your gallery is working.... and next; ze vorld!

So glad you liked the picture so much.

Right now... an obligatory frog joke...

Q: Why did the frog go to the hospital?

.....................................................

A: He needed a "hopperation" !
