Superb capture. There's story here... I've got the feeling that I know and understand how life is in Macedonia. From the state of ill maintenance and needed repairs... to the graffity on the wall... you feel what they live with. Then you focus on the home address number "85" which hangs proudly on the wall underneath the damaged yet sustained hole where a lamp was probably stolen from. Then there's the chair and table who also make their appearance, both of which who seem to be center pieces of love... no doubt cherished by their owners. Great photo

very "ghetto" feel to it, are you sure Macedonia is still a country? I'm pretty sure the area is part of northern Greece now, i was just there in May, so unless they changed it since lol

Well practically and historically justified there is no country called Macedonia nowadays. Many centuries ago there was a land with this name and its origins have been always Hellenic. Yes, I am talking about Alexander the Great, his ancestors and his kin. What you have learned (to school maybe) is still correct! You cannot change centuries of history in just some 10 years. The place that some politic games and persons want nowadays to call as "Macedonia" is a big political affair which is under dispute. For many reasons, with lots of ways, everyone wants something from it. I can give you more details and explanations if you want.
Just have in mind: 1. what you have learned is correct, 2. you have to hear all the sides of the matter in order to have your own opinion, 3. politics are not (and in most cases do NOT) obliged to cope with reality, 4. History gives always the answers for the future, 5. god Helios never ceases to shine.
