these params took the long road as i was expecting them to render earlier. i posted the params in chat and started ponging with *lindelokse . Light joined the fun. after that i did some more tweaking and tweaking ended up with this
(after putting canvas filter of gimp on it xD).i always find it hard in what category they should be... raw or manip? do tell me i would love to hear where you would put it xD.
Opinions about whether to use the filter or not are greatly appreciated too (the good and the bad).

EDIT: i made the filter a little more subtle as well as i uploaded the raw render for comparison
oh btw its a bubble in a taurus kind of thing put in a halfplane with curl. then theres julian -> whorl -> flux. there is fallof2 on the julian.

I use gimp to manip my fractals alot. I think the canvas filter is great and it works well with this one, which I really like. Good job. I would say its a Manip tho even if it just one filter.

Fantastic view - not your standard Apo so the texturing is good - but somewhat limited effect - try layering with all sorts of things if you like it or layer it with different versions of itself. Some seem able to add their own textures within the program but don't listen to me, I'm no Apoer! lol

btw it's pretty much a manip once you start adding filters and stuff from OUTSIDE the main fractal generator, imho!

The graininess of the raw is nicely absorbed in the canvas filter. This one is much enhanced by the filter! I'm inclined to submit it as raw as it doesn't really alter/distort the original. I wouldn't use the filter though if submitting it to a raw competition - then I'd stick with the hardline/purist definition of raw for Apo. (ONLY watermark, signature, title, copyright with 3d party app)

I agree with Jess. It has some cool smooth and shiny area that will look better as it is without the GIMP filter.

thing is the smooth isnt even that smooth i was a bit bothered by the coarseness so thats why i did it xD.

i also use a filter/layers to try to "hide the noise" (dk if that's it)
