Description
I leave for Paris TOMORROW! I am so excited. The #1 thing on my list of sights to see is the Louvre. I never thought I’d be able to go there in my life!
I thought I’d do something different for the Mona Lisa—It’s been etched before (and very masterfully!) so I decided to employ a technique that I used on the third panel of my laocoon piece a few years ago.
It's actually rather difficult for me to employ this technique, as I am so used to using curves and diagonals. It was a fun challenge though and I am always a fan of the 8bit look! I also find this piece to be more accessible to people, because well we can all make staircases on etch a sketches and this Mona Lisa is essentially A LOT of staircases when you really think about it.EDIT (9-30-19): the original Etch A Sketch sold during my trip to Paris which made this one of the first originals I ever sold that wasn't commission-based!

Wow. I could barely draw a rectangle with an etch a sketch.
