Finally! Some green!!!
My gosh that last panel wasnt fun

Now, Iron did say half the forest around the lake got burned, and Sparkle's Hideout is very close to the lake, but also on a cliff. I always had it where it was untouched. I know the hideout wasnt really introduced in Chapter 1, originally there was plans to include it, but really it just got pushed aside. On the cover of this comic, she's standing on the edge of that ledge there. But there is a mini comic where she's there.

Here's the lame map again if u want to see it: Viridian Forest Map: Sparkle's Adventure (not really up-to-date on Chapter 2, but close from where everything was at, Iron's Medicine tree is moving right next to the Berry field)

Anyway, looks like Diana and Volteer are alive. Shocker? Probably not to some of you.

Ever since I made this comic, I always had it where Sparkle's parents die after Chapter 1.

Questions you might ask.

Am I crazy?
No, I just had it that way.

Reasons why?
Well, because they were never really important in the story. Sparkle is practically an adult here, and if her parents were around, they would drag the story down or her.

Idk. I just wanted Iron to be more important than the parents.

Idk y, Iron was an early character that I just grew attached to, as funny as it is.

Maybe I could of thought of something for them, but really if I did I would have to just bring them back again, when I already have enough characters with stories going on as it is, they probably wouldnt even appear alot, if at all.

Yeah, call me lazy, but really the parents just were not important enough for me and I never really thought of anything for them. They are just THERE, ya know?

Maybe for background characters it's fine, but as parents they would have to intervene more with her depression. Though she wouldnt be going through the grieving process, to be honest. She'd be going through a depression still, but obviously her parents are still alive. I think instead she'd be more upset over Isaac and would have asked about him, finding out that her parents are alive.

But they aren't, that's a what if scenario thinking quickly.

***Want to hear a Fun Fact?
Originally, in early sketches, Sparkle's grandma was going to make a debut in the comic as well, in Chapter 1 (never made it Chapter 2 for unknown reasons, didnt reach that chapter before I redid 1) And Sparkle's parents did make more debuts than the official Chapter 1.

But Chapter 1 just kept getting longer and longer, and I wanted it shorter. Just a bit shorter, not too much. I just didnt want to pass 100 pages in the final draft. Which I didnt, thankfully. Almost did.

So Sparkle's grandma was taken out as the years went by and I recently thought of Nina, the shiny Cosplay Pikachu as Sparkle's grandma. She wasnt one when I first created her becaz, well Cosplay Pikachu wasnt around at the time. This story is like back in my 9th grade, which was like, 2009-2010.

That's just a quick explanation.

Why keep Diana alive? Or Volteer?
Well, originally Diana was going to leave after Chapter 2, to follow Jolt (a.k.a Raiking at the time)

But once I made Nero, he just changed everything.

Volteer was more of a supporter for Sparkle while she was depressed. He wasn't shown much, but I liked having him around.

*Edit 1: Speaking of which,* Why didn't Sparkle ask Iron about Isaac?
Well, one, Sparkle thought ALOT about going back, and she knew Isaac had a trainer.

So she mostly thinks that he went off to find him and chances that he was there were slim.

And two, her family was one her mind. Not saying Isaac wasnt important, but really she was asking about her family, that's a little more important.

If differently (like the example in the answer of Reasons Why), she would ask Iron.

But she's just shattered right now. Despite healing for 2 years. She's having a hard time after all that lost.

I know it isnt much, but she lost her own trainer, close friends she had with her Trainer, she felt that she failed, she lost someone else she had loved, she lost her trust in relationships after encountering someone who nearly broke her, her heart shattered, now she just lost her parents.

And if she heard that Isaac was gone, that would literally just be the cherry on top and break her worst than she is.

She doesnt want to hear it.

She doesnt need to hear.

Not at this moment. She will ask, but when the time is right.
