Description
First one is a drawing from 2008, I wanted to redraw it to see my improvement and to understand better what I still have to improve. I tried to keep it as similar as possible to make the changes more obvious. I will draw another new one in a year or two.
Main mistakes in the first drawing:
2. No specific light source
1. Looks like melting plastic
3. Coloring looks flat and boring
4. Shoulders are too narrow
5. Posture doesn't look natural
6. Eyes are enormous... and kinda creepy
7. Head is trying to escape from his body
8. ... The whole anatomy?
Stuff improved in the second drawing:
1. Improved anatomical structure
2. Posture looks more natural
3. Better proportions
4. More realistic cloth folds
5. More definite light source
6. More volume and contrast

a Monday night at 12:00 a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you
and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and
she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if you copy and paste
this to ten comments in the next ten minutes you will have the best day of your life tomorrow.

Wow I'm impressed at this change, I'm kind in the middle of this thing at the moment (unless you're talking photoshop, then don't even get me started on how bad I am)

the only thing that bothers me all all about the re-vamped version is that the body doesn't flow.
It seems very stiff.
Although, i do like it.

Piki, you got quite popular in the last few days o-o I dont know if you read these ;u; But here goes.
The only thing i see is that for the back of his hand to go to the back of his head his elbow needs to be elevated more ;u; and that outward it hurts alot so a more comfortable position would be having the elbow come in a little more. and the perspection on the elbow should be coming at you more of, and put behind the elbow a little theres other areas that can use a little more perspection like to hide or make bigger ;u; Ill just point out abit of them and im sure youll see? Left Arm and hand and mouth. It looks tooo Frontal?
This character is really cute ;o; idk if its the hair or goggles, but if he were real...oh boy /love ache/

Wow, Pikishi! That's a huge improvement! As much as I love your derpy animal drawings and all, the way you draw humans is so cute and fun to look at.

Really nice improvement but in a lot of ways, i like the first one more...
The first one seems less stiff, more realistic in how he's posed
also, in the face, he seems less bishie and more umm, like a real person, nowhere near as technically good as the right but it just has more emotion in it...
So basically, the second is too stiff and his face seems too generic.
(i like that he's slumped back and that his head is sort of down in the first one, also the way his arm is, it's looser and just more pleasant to look at)

The second definitely show's you've improved. I really think, though, that the first one carried more dynamics with it. In the second pic, he's more upright, less expressive. See if you can keep improving your knowledge of anatomy while giving your characters movement and posture that's expressive.

You've improved so much! It's amazing to see great artists like you improve so much. It gives me hope. c:
The main problem I have with the second drawing is his expression. In the first one, it looks like he had just told a goofy joke, but in the second, it's just a face with a smile. The head is also a little big. I've found that heads are usually somewhere around have the width of the shoulders, if that helps at all. It's not an exact thing, of course.
Hope I helped! You've really improved a lot over three years. You're a lot better than I am.

Woww!! You've improved so much! Yeah. The first picture looks kinda weird. Like the position. Very un-natural but in the after picture it looks way more natural and not straining! Improvements? Well I think the second one looks WAY better and doesn't seem to really need much. But when I look at his left arm it does look a bit blotchy. Although I think that's just 'cause of the light source..... I can't even draw as well as the first one though so don't mind me!

I think the only thing that's personally bothering me is the way the shirt is colored...The way it is colored doesn't really correspond with the pants and skin...as if it was painted in a rush...that's my only criticism.

Wow, that looks great! Well, I'd say the fingers seem a bit too large compared to the arm... But that's probably just me. It's so encouraging to see people improving, especially when it's this much!
