*Star lies on the bed, miserable and pregnant*

Star: *groans* I knew this would happen someday. Stuck here all day with nothing to do but stare at a window. I could be at work right now. This is all your father's fault.

*Knock on door*

Prism: *opens gently* Hey. How are you doing?

Star: Just... Great.

Prism: *puts tray of food on bed* Brought you something to eat for the both of you.

Star: *stares down with disgust and pushes tray away* Not hungry..

Prism: Come on, Star. You gotta eat something. Doctor's orders. And besides, my cooking isn't that bad. It's perfection.

Star: *chuckles* Sure. A piece of watermelon is your "perfected"cuisine.

Prism: It's still food, right? And you crave for watermelons.

Star: Yeah.. Guess I do. *stares at the window with a sigh*.

Prism: *holds her hoof* Hon. I know you want to go back to work and such, but you gotta take care of yourself and the foal first. If something happened, then I wouldn't know what I'd do.

Star: Don't worry. Nothing bad will happen.

Prism: I am supposed to worry. I'm the father of this child. Dads are supposed to worry about everything their wife and children do. They're the stallion of the household.

Star: *snickers* Well, I think you are the stallion of this house. A handsome stallion. *kisses cheek*.

Prism: *grins and presses his snout to hers* I'm more than handsome. 10X more.

Star: *whispers* In my world, you are.

Prism: Well in my world, you... *strokes cheek* ... Are the most gorgeous mare a stallion can ask for.

Star: *blushes*

Prism: *kisses her face everywhere*

Star: *blushes more red, then realizes what he was trying to do* Prism! *playfully pushes him back* We can't go that far yet. I'm still pregnant. And it would feel weird to do that.

Prism: *sighs and pouts*

Star: ...*Lifts head up* We only have 2 more months left..

Prism: Well, it feels like forever. Oo! I almost forgot. I need to show you something.

Star: *perks ears up and gets excited* Are we going outside?

Prism: .... No.

Star: *pouts* ... Then just leave me here.

Prism: Come on. It's something I've been working on for a while.

Star: Ok.

Prism: .....

Star: ......

Prism: *confused* Uh.. That means come with me. Right now.

Star: Well, you gotta help me out first. *points at belly*

Prism: Oh! Right...

*Prism helps Star go into a room*

Prism: *covering Star's eyes* Don't peek now.

Star: Just hurry with the surprise, Prizzy.

Prism: *reveals the room* Ok. You can look now.

Star: *sees the room with a surprised expression on her face* ..........

Prism: Well. *side hugs her* What do you think?

Star: ..... Prism... It's... Amazing. *starts tearing up* No. It's more than that. It's beautiful. *looks over at crib* You did this... All by yourself?

Prism: Of course I did. Well.. I had some help from T and Del. But I mostly did everything.

Star: *looks over at baby mobile* Is that... *points at Twilight figure*

Prism: Well, why not? She is a Princess after all.

Star: *hugs Prism tight* I love this so much. *kisses Prism on the lips* Thank you. I'm sure he'll love it.

Prism: Him?

Star: Yeah. I have a feeling it's a colt.

Prism: Nuh uh. It's going to be a filly.

Star: Hey, I'm the one who's carrying a foal here. So I'm pretty much more right than you.

Prism: Whatever. *grins*

Star: *thinks for a moment and looks down, depressed.*

Prism: Is something bugging you lately? Is it about the gender? Cause I can-.

Star: No it's not that. I've been... Thinking about what the doctor said a couple weeks ago.

Prism: About what?

Star: *starts to tremble a bit* You know. About... The risks of me having a foal. About how small I am and how it could affect the baby really bad and the dangers it could lead up to when I deliver.

Prism: ........

Star: I'm just really scared about what could happen. It's like if I keep thinking about, that day would just keep coming closer and closer fast. I've known ponies that died from childbirth....

Prism: ...... *starts to get worried* Well don't think about it. Think of you becoming a mother for the first time.

Star: It's not that easy, Prism. I had nightmares ever since I found out that I was with foal. I have a feeling it would come true. It just scares me to think about if our foal would- *pauses for a second*.

Prism: ...... Star....

Star: ... Or I would die, on that bed. Or both of us would.

Prism: *gets furious* Hey now. No pony is going to die. Both of you are going to make it, alive and healthy. *pulls Star in for an aggressive hug*.

Star: ...... *tears fill both eyes*

Prism: Please... Don't say something like that. As long as we follow the doctor's advice, everything will be ok. Think of you, holding that little bundle of joy in your arms, realizing that you made something and brought it to the world. It would have my eyes or your beautiful eyes. And... You'll be healthy enough to leave the hospital. With me and our baby. And you could return to your dream job. We could be a real family then.

*As more and words came out of Prism's mouth, more and more tears came out of Star's eyes and Prism's eyes.*

Prism: And you gotta be tough, Star. You have to win this fight. I know our little guy is tough like you and I.

Star: *sniffs* Yeah. You are right.

Prism: 'Course I am.

Star: ... I'll try to take it easy today.

Prism: Thanks, Star.

Star: No. Thank you. *holds his hoof and presses it on her stomach* For making this foal my own.

Aaaannd they would end up having a colt I'm sorryyyy!!! I hate these kind of stories that are this sad.... But the obstacle they are both facing is the complications of Star delivering a foal (since she is still small) and how they try not to think about what would badly happen.
