Sorry about the word salad title. It's getting late.Anyway, here's a quick test of v2, v3 and v4. See if you can spot them all (but don't ruin it for others!). uwu

pip-pip, found version 2, 3 fairly easily but v4 must be good at hide n seek cos can't immediately see it. A small point, for the soldiers who have to wear this patt do they have to become tree dwellers!?? -lol

Hopefully not--there just wasn't a lot of representative ground level foliage that was also in full sunlight.
Now that I have a full set of overwhites again, I can hopefully test the effects of shadow.

I did find V2 and V3, but not V4 so I would say V4 is the most effective out of the 3 patterns.
