Description Pretty much all the sketches I've done for the past 3 months of this year that I've procrastinated uploading.~

Just a few of the things here include but are not limited to my favorite Ponies with my favorite portal characters, my animal crossing characters through the games, titans, pokemon, robots, and more

All characters (c) of their respectful owners (Including quite a few to myself )

PS: That robo up above Chell was actually my attempt at turning her into a robot since everybody and the kitchen sink has turned Wheatley into a human so why not go the other way around too?

I'm lovin your sketch dump doodles! The way you draw characters (original and fanart) is always so cute!
I'd have to say my fave is the Italy(?) scenery! So much detail; right down to last little bit! Looks so professionally done! Like you took a photo and mimic it spot-on!
Very well done, as always, bud!

Thanks so much! :,D
This is one of my favorite bunches of sketches that I come back to look at lately~ I still want to color a few of these at some point or another

I tend to split these dumps into separate pictures of similar subjects now, because doing one sheet of everything like this can nearly break my internet trying to upload :faint but back

That is a great perspective city-scape. And you did a wonderful job drawing Starfire.

I'm hoping to buy all 5 seasons of Teen Titans within the next year or so.

Thanks very much.~

I actually watched most all the episodes a little while ago, they have them for the most part all on youtube if you haven't seen them for a while. :>

are just SO good at drawing.
You just keep amazing me. <,D And I REALLY need to draw more if I actually want to get good! :0

Well it definitely comes from practice practice + practice which = PRACTICE >8D

And also my grandma got me some cartooning books which inspired me quite a bit for the pictures furthest to the bottom of the characters with all the thicker outlines (they're actually the ones I have on Maple ) Maybe when we Skype tomorrow I can sketch some things on paper or in photoshop of stuff you'd like to see! Kinda like a private livestream or something! 8D The camera I've got is posable and movable (since when I tried to use my laptop to skype my bro couldn't hear a thing xDDD) so I'll be able to point it at all sorts of stuff eue

I don't know how on Earth you manage to draw everything so well, but the way you pose and shape characters just kills me. It's TOO GOOD fhdskj
Even though most everything is in your own style, it's ridiculous how you manage to get everything looking like they were made for your style. I'm not a Pony fan and yet... I like the ones you drew here -_o

One thing that I never did for the longest time but have finally started to do- is print references. Lots and lots of references (at least of characters that aren't mine xDDD) I look around for pictures of characters I want to draw and take them around with me in my sketch book so I have a much more solid thing to base what I draw off of. All of the posing though just comes from having too much fun with it. xD;; I like playing around with new and dramatic sorts of poses like floating, sitting, jumping, complete front and side views, instead of doing the static 3/4th angle standing pose like I used to do so very much in the past. Or just the 3/4th view in general. I also like trying to incorporate some of my little drawing quirks into characters no matter who I'm drawing, and sometimes it's intentional but other times it just happens completely on its own to blend in with the rest of my style.~

RidgeTroopa In reply to Piranhartist [2012-03-23 05:18:22 +0000 UTC]

You're right, different angles apart from 3/4 view are always much more interesting.
And yeah, references are really helpful for details and such, although I was mainly interested in how you incorporated the designs into your own style.
I'm really curious though, do you visualize the entire character's pose or just draw the limbs one at a time position in whichever way fits? I always have a really hard time getting a static pose looking as awesome as these...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Piranhartist In reply to RidgeTroopa [2012-03-23 11:26:40 +0000 UTC]

I always establish the pose I want first before drawing any details of the character. Usually I sketch the head first and then draw a stick figure to represent the body and limbs, then I sort of work my way top to bottom drawing the body itself, then go back and start drawing details like clothes and hair and such. :>

RidgeTroopa In reply to Piranhartist [2012-03-28 06:00:33 +0000 UTC]

Wow, that's so simple that it leaves me asking myself why I hadn't done it at least once by now... Stick figures. Huh.
Yeah, I typically know what I want things to look like and they're much more amazing in my mind... But this helps a lot. Thanks for the tips!

Kito oh my god you can show so much life and motion in your drawings ;-;
And you can imitate styles so well, it's seriously amazing how you can switch to styles that are DRASTICALLY different and be so spot-on with them, like from going from Animal Crossing to ponies to Teen Titans. It's incredible 8|
Seeing these doodles is REALLY INSPIRING, it makes me want to try to capture that LIFE in doodles from now on instead of just drawing somebody standing there. So thank you for the unintentional motivation!
You're improving so much so faaast oh my god congrats and keep it up ;-; <3

Piranhartist In reply to TheBerserkerGJ [2012-03-22 20:56:28 +0000 UTC]

I just get so much FUN out of drawing sketches and spending a lot of time on making them look just how I imagined them rather than just scribbling some pirates and zombies or something in the corner of my homework. Not only is it fun but it also gives me lots of practice and lots of stock material that I can use later to arrange and color in full pictures. One of the things I've had the most fun with lately is just putting characters into different poses and angles, rather than always doing a 3/4th full body view, I still do it sure but not NEARLY as often, I try to make myself experiment with different poses and stances and just really make these guys all feel like real cartoons that you'd see in a comic or on TV. With how much I love sketching and drawing characters I truly think I want to be a character designer after taking a degree in illustration, of all the artwork I've done it's really what I enjoy the most.

I'm really happy to see that there's such a noticeable difference compared to what I've done in the past, that really means a lot that others are able to see it, so thank you so much.~

I'm glad to see that it's actually a noticable improvement.~ And of course you're more than welcome to see more! xDDD I actually really love drawing at different perspectives and angles, as it tends to make pictures feel a lot larger to me.

Oh my god, Kito, you're seriously starting to kind of blow me away with how much you've improved and how quickly you're getting even better. That first picture of the city is so detailed and beautiful and you work with perspective so well and I just love the way you draw everything uughh. <3 And there's so much life in your drawings!! I'm so jealous.

Thank you so much.~ :,D That city was actually my final art project for art class this year (since they took me out of it for the 2nd semester and replaced it with chemistry, so I have to wait until senior year to take the rest of it. >:I) and I probably never would of done it had it been something assigned to me. I really liked having art class in that respect since it gets me to try new things whereas just teaching myself how to draw all the other years before and after even when I do some new stuff I don't really push to the limits and attempt drawing city scapes or anything. xD;;;
