And yes, i used polar felt for this, although it works with any fabric, felt is great to cover some sewing imperfections :3

How do you know where to sew, and if you wanted to make a cute plushie, how big should the pattern be and how do you know where to sew?

Well, actually the turtle can be as big as you want.
The pattern's size is just as the one shown in the picture, i upload the original size

erm.. how do u sew the limbs n head together with the body? seems soo complicated!

Just regular sewing
it's better if you do it beneath the limbs though, so they don't show in the up
that's why fleece or polar fleece is so good too, cause stitches rarelly are shown ^-^
