Great start, I think you'll have a lot of fun with your R72. Trees in sunlight always work well, try lakes as the water becomes almost black from the IR absorption.
Also try experimenting with differnt white balance presets. Great job, look forward to more.

Thank you For the advice I really appreciate it definitely hoping to get some water pic's when I can get out don't drive so have to wait for my fiancΓ© Steve =voh2007 to have some time of to get out and about but fingers crossed I get to try again soon

An infrared filter makes the camera capture infrared light instead of light in the visible spectrum. The resulting image is adapted from the infrared measurements into visible colors. At least that's how I think it works. Things that reflect more ifnrared waves will appear brighter.
