Description
Rikki Tikki Tavi is perhaps one of my most favorite animated shorts. For those who have never seen it, I suggest you go to [link] and look it up.I HEART RIKKI TIKKI SO MUCH
This is Rikki, about to attack Nag (Naag), the indian cobra. After all, thats all a mongoose's business in life; to fight and kill snakes.

the hunter with eyeballs of flame..."

I love this. I love you.
It's my favorite short story of all time. I've only seen the short once, but I remember that it was identical to the story in a very satisfying way.

Beautiful work. I love both the story and the Chuck Jones short -- the showdowns between Rikki and the snakes were awesome. I really like that you made Rikki look a bit truer to a real mongoose in regards to his teeth, and I also love the movement in this piece, very fluid.

I read both Jungle Book books by Rudyard Kipling and my favorite story of them was always Rikki Tiki. I think you've portrayed both him and Nag very well ^_^

I LOVE that cartoon. It's also a wonderfull, and heart-warming story in it. Chuck Jones & his gang did a great job on it, and you did a great job recapturing the look, and feel of the cartoon here in that intense showdown.
The border art is a nice touch to.

Whoa! I love that pose! This looks like it belongs on an urn or something. Glad I found this; Rikki-Tikki was one of my favorite movies as a kid, even though I sometimes got scared when his eyes turned red. I liked all those old cartoons, including the Jungle Book one and The Phantom Tollbooth.

And I agree, the animated short was fantastic! Wish it was available somewhere on DVD or is it?), only ever found it on VHS.

Actually, I ordered it on dvd a few days ago. It comes with some other animated short called Yankee Doodle Cricket. I've never seen it, but if its by the same ppl, it should be good.
Go to Amazon.com if your interested.

Something you guys may like to know. The animation was a project by 'Chuck Jones'.
He was a big Rudyard Kipling reader and that story held a special place in Mr Jones heart.
I you don't know who Chuck Jones is... Google his name. He did 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas', 'Gay Purrie', all those Roadrunner vs Coyote cartoons, and created the famous 'WB Frog'.
Hello my honey. Hello my baby. Hello my rag time gal!

That's awesome. I am very familiar with Chuck Jones from Loony Toons, but I had no idea he did Gay Purrie. That was another of my favs, growing up.
Jones loving Kipling's work is no surprise, but very interesting! I love Jones' work; as well as Kiplings!
Thank you for the tip!
