Description
Queen Zeal, of Chrono Trigger fame, of course. Here, the mad queen casts that misspelled spell Halation that reduces your party to 1 HP. This began as a pencil drawing (from math class, I believe), but was completely redone in Photoshop. Photoshop CS, to be precise, but I only used the features of Photoshop 7 on this particular drawing.All hail Photoshop.
(EDIT: Realized I'd forgotten to shade a section of her cape. Fixed.)

My second most-hated RPG villain of all time (second only to Porky). The only thing worse than villains who are overwhelmingly smug and pompous are ones who are still just as smug and pompous even after you thrash them. And the only thing worse than villains like THAT are ones that do all that PLUS you never even get to kill them at all! ...Like this one.
I'm surprised there isn't more fanart of her out there though... Good work!

Care to share? I've skimmed your favorites. Found some good stuff, but I still really like this one.
I think its mostly because its a really good combination of your own style (which in my opinion is essential to fanart) and yet also completely captures the character from the game both in personality and physical traits. Not to mention I don't see any suggestions for improvement.
Your Ice 2 pic does this well too. Great idea with the prism dress btw!

Well, I can't disagree that it certainly captures her - I was talking mainly about the technical quality of the art. I think it looks pretty amateurish, the facial proportions are all wrong. In terms of better Chrono Trigger fanart that captures the characters just as well, I'm fond of these: [link] [link] [link] and I've also drawn a few myself that I consider much better than that one.
As for the Prism Dress, well, that's actually Toriyama's design. [link]

Halation is really useful when you use Dino Tail and Frog Squash before use a MegaElixir. Zeal will loss many thousands HP

I remember that attack. I hate that freaking attack. I think I had to either one up on her with Lucca or do a combo with 1 hp'ed Crono/Magus, Lucca, and Marle b/c of that. I went through that game 15-ish times. That means a lot from me. I normally hate doing things over again, but Chrono Trigger is suchu fun game!
This looks really great. I like that background and Zeal looks so powerful here with that pose and expression of hers. The folds in her clothing are done well and I like the coloring on this. Nice shading too.

It's the spell she's casting. I say it's misspelled because they spell it "hallation" in the game, but the dictionary said "halation." It has something to do with light; I forget.
