Oooh...really liking the right side of this piece. The left side is alright, just not as great as the rest, but it ain't bad. Great colors and lighting as well.

The shape and overall presentation of this piece is very good! It's got a nice flow, and some textures to keep it interesting.
The thing that bugs be about it is that there are some light squares that spiral down as well. It is a bit distracting. I'm not so sure it was actually intended though.
I could be wrong, but my guess is that Transform #1 is Linear. Now, normally transform number does not matter, but in some rare cases Transform #1 is special. Try duplicating this transform, then deleting the original Transform #1 and see if these light squares go away.

You're close with linear, it's actually escher.
And good call on that. I could see just from the preview that it disappeared
