Great set and lighting.  But 8 hrs and still a bit grainy  ?  What video card do you have?

Obviously, there's something I just don't understand and simply can't resolve.

This is a problem I'm trying to resolve on some Stonemason sets and this one. It happens when the size increases beyond the active viewport. Some Stonemason's render the image at 4 1/2 feet. 3delight renders are usually 2 minutes (unless there's hair) and most other set in Iray 2 hours no grain up to 4 hours if image is dark with gold in it to reduce fireflies It rips through Carrara renders in 15 minutes. My business take up most of my time 12-18 hour days so generally it set and forget.I test each model first to see if what problems it has. I let it run yesterday for eight hours since less time had much worse results.

It could be that your video memory is not enough for the scene so it reverts to using CPU.  There are scripts to reduce texture size which you can run prior to rendering which will reduce memory requirements.  That may get you under your card's limit.  Check the DAZ forum for details.  For a commercial solution there's this: www.daz3d.com/scene-optimizer

My computer has solid state as well as the standard.I don't mind buying an upgraded video card if need be but I'll check out the optimizer as well. Thanks.
