Description
I found this crazy lookin caterpillar on my tree today while I was enjoying the nice weather. The internet has led me to believe that it will turn into a cecropia moth which is more or less just a huge fuzzy red-brown moth. I currently have him in a large jar in hopes that I can help him grow into his adult state of fully-winged bringer of terror.Related content

He was a pretty good size O: Big enough that I spotted it on a tree from across the yard. I'd never seen a caterpillar like this before (and haven't seen one since), but apparently they aren't that uncommon around here.
I tried to get it to turn into a moth and it did go into a cocoon, but it never came out ):

The internet tells me that I have to leave it outside in its little jar until early April, then I bring it inside and the warmth will trigger it or something and it'll come out a couple weeks later (:
It was pretty big. I didn't measure it but I would guess it could have probably stretched out to four or five inches long o_O I found it on a silver maple :'D in northwest Indiana.

Oh that's pretty big :0
Yeah but I like the sounds they make.
The females don't make sounds.
I picked up one making sounds and then it started screaming xD
It was probably like "Ah! Eeek! Don't eat me!"
Yeah India would. They have weird spiders D:

I could never figure out if tweedledum/dee were human or not in the animated one. They always struck me as more like a weirdly fleshy humpty dumpty D:
