Judith Curry has a long post on several recent papers regarding Cat 4 - 5 hurricanes judithcurry.com/2015/08/30/hur…

One paper finds a slight decrease, the other, an increase. In any case you should find it good reading, especially many of the comments which follow, some from scientists / weather / military people with hurricane experience.

NOAA is only listing two storms now, and one of those is only a tropical storm, not a hurricane www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/cphc/

In any case hurricanes tend to track to the west / north-west, so one of those two storms won't be having much effect on Hawaii.

So you are saying this has Never happened before, in the 200,000,000 years or so that the Pacific Ocean has existed? And do you understand that hurricanes are one of the many ways the Earth's atmosphere redistributes heat, and that part of that redistribution is straight out into space?

And YES, climate change is real. Always has been, always will be. Just look at the last 11,000 years and you will see a score of major climate shifts.
