Description Drew them at 1AM today before going to bed because I needed some time to relax as I felt anxious about tons of stuff.
It permitted me to test what I knew about anatomy and how a skull works. Oh I used no references but thanks to that lack of concrete informative material at least now I know that I need to work on skull mechanics later on, after I'm done with commissions and all.
Also I'm a bit disappointed in the second one, it was first supposed to look like a bovine but turned out looking like an ovine. e_e"
The third one is totally random and looks creepy but I sorta like it. xD As for the first one, I wanted to kill some time and work on the type of face build I like. I think it looks simple but that adding another feature would ruin it. Plus it reminds me of a closed species I've already seen here on dA I think? Can't remember well but I suspect it to be so. x)

Each was inspired from different animals:
1st: Leopard | Ball Python | Bull Terrier |
2nd: Unicorn | Muskox | Wolf | Ram |
3rd: Elephant | Boar piglet (markings) | Star-nosed Mole | Amargasaurus |

As soon as I've brushed up on my skills concerning anatomy I'll create more of these. It's super interesting and fun to do even when you're tired. And let me tell you that the design(markings, color values, ...) part is as difficult as the anatomical one to get right (that's why they're black and white atm). The two have to mix well to keep everything clear and visible.
I've always wanted to try creating some "alien" creatures and even though I'm not a pro I'm willing to practice more to get better at creating beasts from scratch. Next time I'll try to get inspired by more specific animals that have interesting face anatomy or abilities -and why not try to draw full bodies this time? Which could be super hard interesting too~

Hope you like them~

It's interesting what one can do at those hours xD
I think you did a good job considering the lack of references :3
I like the three of them n.n you made a good job n.n and also made me notices that I've no idea of the diference between a bovine and an ovine skull xD
Colours are important, so I guess they're also hard to get right x.x my fav is the third one :3
A full body would be really interesting, thought hard...but it would worth it >:3
The second and third one kinda reminds me creatures from the "Star Wars" universe xD
Great job, my friend n.n it's good to see you n.n

Yeah... xD I needed a breather~
Thanks! ^^ I'm glad you like them~
Oh well I haven't looked up any reference to compare the two, yet~ I shall do that soon, it would be enriching. x3
Yus colors are hard to define. X_X
The third one is my least favorite of this batch, actually. x)
Yeah it would be very difficult as it would demand reflection upon the environment they're supposed to live in, the type of animal they are (prey/predator), and so on~ But it would definitely be a nice thing to do to practice general anatomy. ^^
Star Wars? Really? xD Well I'm not a fan at all but I'm very happy to hear that my poor art reminds you of great character designers! <3
Thanks, I've been trying to be as active as possible, working in parallel on commissions and all, but life's been pretty tough to me. :/

It would be indeed xD if there's a difference, you could do a draw of both of them to practice and compare them :3
Yep o.o if you want to make them as realistic as it can be, the colours most reflect their ecology and even some evolutionary/inherited features o.o
Yep xD They kinda look like they would fit in the George Lucas universe xD
It's good that you could take a moment to breathe and "relax" doing this ><

Yup! ^^
Absolutely, that's why it's hard to think of~ xD
Well, I take that as a great compliment then, my friend. Thanks again~
Yeah~ I so need that at the moment! X_X
