Description Materials and Equipment

-fleece of desired colour for the apple's main 'body' and stalk (felt works too, but not as well)
-felt for the eyes, cheeks and mouth
-Sewing machiene (not necessary)
-needles/thread

Instructions

1. Sew (by hand) the felt features onto one of the green pieces.

2. Sew (by hand) the brown dot to the curved edge of the other brown piece

3. Sew (by hand) the two straight edges of the brown piece together, invert, stuff and stitch up the bottom end. This is the stalk.

4. Sew all the green parts together leaving a gap to invert and stuff, such that they make an inside out ball shape.

5. Place the stalk into one of the ends, push it inside such that the end of the stalk is the part you will sew to the inside of your apple - make sure it is the right way up! Then sew in place

6. Now, because you want your apple to be concave at either end, take a length of STRONG threads. Cut to the height you want the inside of your apple to be. This should be smaller than the end height.

A good way to calculate the length of this string is to measure the diamiter your apple - seeing as you apple is essentially a ball, this is the width of ONE green piece, multiplied by 4 and divided by pi.

7. Now sew firmly this strong thread to the stalk end of your apple, and to the opposite end of that. This will reduce the working length of this strong thread to about 75%. As such, the 'core' of your apple will be shorter than the rest of your apple!

8. Invert and stuff.

Note: I found this quite hard to explain with just words, I may turn this into a tutorial later.
