Description
It seems like I now finally found our style. An elaborated version of the already posted style is now hardly under work, and I must say, it looks really the best to me ... even to my team leaders.I hope you like it.
Thanks and credits to Kymotonian for the flowers and the sign. In later versions, we will use our own, so we have a fully individual game.
PLEASE DO NOT STEAL, USE AND PUBLISH ANY OF THESE TILES!

Wow, this is absolutely amazing! A revamped PokΓ©mon style! But not in 3D like BW, but in a much better way, in a complex 2D style. I love this o.O It's perfect!

This is amazing. I've been waiting to see a high resolution PokΓ©mon map, and this is it. I absolutely love those trees, and the cloud reflection shows some true pixel art skills. I just think with these skills you should be making a proper game for money, and not a fan game.

Wonder full! though one question,
what is the general theme of this region? is it mostly country or forest based? are there any cities? or being an MMO will it have elements of all kinds of environments?
not only that, but how is the region going to be organized?

Good question. First, I want to get familar with this style. We can say it's the general or main theme, green ground, leaf-trees, green grass, water, etc. Sure, there will later be more and more themes, growing with the development of the mmo, as well as city themese and village themes.
Since we never really found a perfect style for us, until now, we did not yet really think about a region organisation. You can imagine our map development like this: I create the main tiles (of which I already got some, but still city and villages left) and if they are finished, I can think about a region structure. Then I start mapping, mapping and mapping, but each route with the same theme, each city and each village with the same theme, too, until I created several themes after and after to replace the old one and make any place in the region unique and individual.

I see, however I feel it may be ideal to devote some time into planning out the region or regions organization within this game so that way you all know exactly what you want, if you just build from the ground up you may find that you later decide to add something there and you are required to then move things around, and take things apart to apply the new change, planning it out on paper ahead of time and then building it all up could prevent or cause there to be less reworks on the maps.
I understand this is primarily to experiment with and settle on a specific art direction for the project itself, I'm just saying it might be to the benefit of the developers to take some time into planning out that aspect.

I'd lower the opacity on the clouds in the pond, but other than that, it looks amazing
