'Qamariyyah' relates to the moon. 'Qamar' is the Moon in Arabic. The same way goes to 'Shamsiyyah', relating ti the Sun.
Familiar with the tajwid terms 'alif-lam qamariyyah' and 'alif-lam shamsiyyah'?
