Description Tywin Lannister, making a triumphant entrance at Casterly Rock or something. This sketch has been sitting on my desk for a while before I decided to scan and color it. I used Verrocchio's monument to Bartolomeo Colleoni as a model, which explains the worm's eye view, so er, let's pretend he's on some kind of bridge? Plus, the statue is in Venice, and when I hear red+gold+lion the Venetian flag is the first thing that comes to my mind (truth be told, those elements seem to be pretty common in heraldry in various combinations), so I played a little more on that with the sword-holding lion in the background . I also like to think that would be Iron Man's armor if Iron Man existed in the fifteenth century. Or something.

(messy) pencil and Photoshop CS2. Yes I used lens flare, now sue me.

Tywin Lannister è un signor cattivo che si merita tutto il mio rispetto! Così come questo disegno, che lo rappresenta benissimo (anche e soprattutto dal punto di vista caratteriale!)

This reminded me of that scene where Cersei said, "the crowds cheered for him twice as loud as the king but half as loud as they did for Rhaegar".
You depicted it quite well!

Oh those Lannisters... they're so damn tacky and it's hilarious. You could have probably snuck the Arc in there on his chest and nobody but Iron Man fans would have gotten it.

How long did it take you to do all the brickwork on that wall? And the horse looks really good, too.

Ah, the bricks are a texture, I am not *that* crazy XD It wasn't even intended to be much of an elaborate piece at first - the linework is unpolished - I just added details and effects as I went.

That's good, at least you saved your hand from potential agony. I can understand the sentiment of having one intention with a piece and then it suddenly.. blossoming into something much more.

Remeber Tywin's triumphant return to the capitol, when his horse crapped right in front of the Iron Throne and Joff had to be very careful in order not to step in it?

Pojypojy In reply to Marliv [2010-10-01 16:27:31 +0000 UTC]

Ngl, most of my favorite Tywin moments include him pwning Joffrey I wish they both had been around a little longer just to see more of that!

Marliv In reply to Pojypojy [2010-10-01 16:59:33 +0000 UTC]

In fact, anytime someone - be it Tyrion or Tywin - pwned Joff was priceless. The only good use of Joff, I suppose.

Althouh Joff pwning Tywin with that comment about hiding under Casterly Rock was good as well, I have to admit.
