Description
Fall was upon the small town of Tao, but no one had time to enjoy it. Almost every pokemon in the town was in a panic due to the sudden disappearance of team members and close friends. Some saw it as nothing but a small problem and that their team mates would re-appear in town sometime soon. Others were in a severe state of panic and depression and were looking everywhere frantically for their teammates. Perhaps none were in as bad of a state as Smoke. The Quilava had checked every nook and cranny of the town for his missing Buizel friend, but she seemed to just have vanished into thin air. Smoke had spent the past two days without food or rest in a desperate search for his comrade, and it was taking a toll on him. He was dizzy and delirious, and couldn’t seem to walk straight. Eventually he collapsed right under the Rescuer tree house and passed out. He woke up in the infirmary on one of the cots and was greeted by a happy looking Happiny staring at him.
“Oh good you’re awake! You’ve been passed out all day.”
Smoke blinked sleepily, not being able to speak due to one of the massive headaches that have been troubling him recently.
“I can see you’re a little low on energy. Here, eat this.”
The Happiny held out a small green herb which Smoke weakly grabbed and ate. The herb was extremely bitter but it filled him with energy to get up and rub his aching head.
“Ugh… that was the nastiest thing I’ve ever eaten…”
The Happiny smiled, hopped off the cot, and went to the back to retrieve something. Smoke looked around at the few pokemon that were in the infirmary; most were victims of Sorbet’s rampage that received the most severe injuries. He shook his head to try and loose the headache when his bangs fell into his eyes.
“Aww geez…where’d she put my bandana?”
Smoke looked around for his beloved red cloth when the Happiny returned with a tray of food balanced in her stubby arms.
“Eat up. You need the energy.”
Smoke ate the food quickly and his headache faded for the most part while the Happiny watched him cheerfully.
“Ugh… that feels better.”
Smoke hopped out of the cot and looked around.
“Looking for something?” The Happiny asked curiously. “Yeah, my bandana, where is it?”
Smoke asked without giving her the slightest glance.
“Ahem. Looking for something?”
Smoke turned to the doorway to see who the owner of this new voice was and was greeted with a rather tough looking female Buneary, tossing a certain folded up red bandana between her hands.
“Oh for the love of Arceus, Misty…”
Smoke said while face palming. The Buneary merely grinned and said,
“C’mon sleeping beauty, we need you out here.”
Misty bounded out of the doorway and Smoke immediately chased after her leaving the Happiny to go about the Infirmary. Smoke caught up with her outside of her team’s house, panting hard.
“Why the hell did you make me run all the way to your house?”
Misty kicked the door open.
“Because we need to talk.”
Smoke walked in to see Poly, a white bellied Pikachu and Misty’s partner, laying face up on the floor staring at the ceiling fan.
“Poly, I got Smoke. C’mon, we need to talk about Corin and Noodle.”
Smoke had noticed that along with his Buizel partner, Corin, Misty and Poly’s Shinx partner, was nowhere to be seen.
“He’s missing too?”
Poly stood up and nodded as the three went to a back room with a table in the center of. The three sat down and Misty tossed Smoke his bandana and began talking.
“Alright, we don’t know where the hell Noodle or jerk face went, and obviously searching for them around town is pointless. We can either sit around and whine like the rest of the idiots in town, or we can get out there and do something. Rumor has it that the guilds have some missions for us. Smoke, I’m not sure what you rescuers are doing but, I say we go so some crap while we’re waiting for everyone to come back. Agreed?”
Smoke nodded and Poly stared at the ceiling, obviously interested in something. Misty sighed,
“Good enough, let’s go.”
The three quickly left the house for their respective guild buildings, leaving Corin’s trusty green bandana on the table……
