I finally finished it! I've been working on this ref sheet for ages.

He was an adopt I got from PrettyPuffPrincess a while ago. I altered his mane a little. Hope that's OK.

Bio (short version): He was born into an incredibly poor family. His father was a dirt poor metal worker and his mother made bead jewelry but did not make much either. They loved their son, but they did not have enough money to keep their home and raise a child. If they kept him, they'd end up on the street. When he was just a baby, they sent him to live with his aunt, a high society Manehattan Bridleway actress named Sparkling Star and his cousin, Ivory Prism.

Bio (long version): He was born into an incredibly poor family. His father was a dirt poor metal worker and his mother made bead jewelry but did not make much either. They loved their son, but they did not have enough money to keep their home and raise a child. If they kept him, they'd end up on the street. When he was just a baby, they sent him to live with his aunt, a high society Manehattan Bridleway actress named Sparkling Star and his cousin, Ivory Prism. Sparkling Star was born dirt poor just like her sister, but she was discovered as a filly by an agent who got her work as an actress. She is ashamed of her origins as a poor mare from Fillydelphia. She tries her best to raise Ivory and Dance Step well, but her feelings about her family rubbed off onto Dance Step who is also ashamed of his origins as well and tries not to talk about it. He does know his parents, but his relationship with them is bad, not only due to his shame in their social status, but also because he feels abandoned by them despite that they had no choice and tried to stay active in his life. He loves his aunt who raised him like her own, but his relationship with his cousin is also bad. His cousin is a beautiful well known sculpter present day and she has always been a spoiled brat since unlike the rest of her family, everything has been handed to her on a silver platter her whole life and she takes it for granted. She used to bully Dance Step in their youth often reminding him that he was adopted and poor with taunts and mean nicknames. She was the first in her class to get her cutie mark which caused her to make fun of him for being a blank flank even though she's a year and a half older. He grew older and eventually was the last in his class to still have a blank flank at Applebloom's age. One day he came home crying that Ivory and some school ponies were bullying him for his blank flank and saying he'd never get a cutie mark because he was poor trash and talentless. To cheer him up his aunt told him how she was poor and felt like she'd never get her cutie mark either and now she's an acting star. She took him to a Bridleway musical (while Ivory stayed home grounded with a foal sitter for bullying him) and at the show he fell in love with the choreography. A few days later, his aunt signed him up for a dance class and he got his cutie mark. He was so excited until he got home where Ivory started teasing him that dance was a mare talent and he was a colt. Angry that he finally found something to make him happy and that Ivory had to come and destroy it he finally stood up to her and told her to leave him alone. Now she's still a brat in general, but she doesn't bully Dance anymore specifically since they now have an "understanding". The other school ponies tried to bully him still, but now he just ignored them since he found his talent. Now he's the main choreographer at Bridleway. He knows all of the mane 6 because he's friends with Rarity due to her connections with Coco Pommel who he's also friends with. Aside from Rarity he's also friends with Pinkie Pie now. He doesn't talk to Twilight too much because he finds her "boring and uptight" and he's ok with Fluttershy, but they really have very little in common. He and AJ sometimes clash because of their differing personalities but get along in general. He and Dash don't get along though, because she makes fun of the fact that he's a stallion who's sassy and loves dance, and it reminds him of his cousin even though Dash means it as fun teasing not bullying. He feels bad about how he's ashsmed of his parents since he knows how it feels to be treated this way, but he uses it as a defense mechanism due to his insecurity.

Sorry if there's any grammar, punctuation or spelling mistakes. I didn't proof read it like I usually do. That's the longest OC backstory I have ever written.

I'm planning to make a series of short story fanfics for him here soon, the first being one where his parents come to town for a visit and he tries to get them to pretend to be rich to hide his past, but ends up learning a lesson about loving them for who they are.

.......Also, if you're wondering if he's gay (which I'm sure some of you are), his sexuality is not established nor is it important. I PERSONALLY prefer to think of him as Bisexual, but he can be whatever sexuality the reader wants him to be since he doesn't have a "special somepony" and I'm not planning to give him one any time soon since not every story needs romance and It's OK to be single. On the one hand I feel gay representation is important, yet I also feel it's important to show you can be a sassy dancer, a guy, and straight. Your talents don't necessarily make you hetero or homo. Therefore I decided to leave it up to the reader how they think of him. Frankly, he's an orange magical talking horse anyways.
