Finally arrived at the look I want (sort of). After spending so long trying to emulate hand-drawn animation, I have decided to hand-draw animation. Watched Spirited Away again and realized that I'll probably need to start learning how to paint so I can do backgrounds but for the project at hand I think I'll go greyscale and use pens/shading. That aside, I've settled for a planned half-hour short film along the lines of The Snowman: The Snowman (TV Short 1982) - IMDb . No, not the horror movie. It'll be a Nephilim instead of a snowman and he will have a baby and they will go on adventures, and I've realized that because there will be no dialogue, I'll have to carry the film with animation which means drawing over several hundred Nephilim frames a day.

As for the rhino, it is a stereotypical one to two-ton algae eater. They are very stupid and group together in large, loosely organized herds during the summer but spread out as it gets colder. During winter they are sluggish and often solitary. Their trunk-like radulae all pretty much an all-purpose food processor that can handle muck and pillar trees and feces and carrion and the tough, lichen-like terrestrial algae that grows in the hills.
