This another part of some birthday drawings I did for HareSoup !Rio and Con are really close buddies, which I think is sweet because even though they have a few similarities, they're also really different. Anyway, I love these two

I used a photo from Malleni-Stock as reference, which helped a LOT because backgrounds still scare me and I couldn't have done this without that reference. This was fantastic practice! Thank you very much

I know I mentioned this prior, but you're really improving on your backgrounds! Who cares if you use a reference? That's what helps you improve and you'll benefit every time! This one for whatever reason is extra special because you really got a good hold of perspective, spacing and color. It's still your style entirely, but there is a nice touch of realism with it too. This reminds me of those fully colored pages in a manga book. You already have fun one off comics, but you would be fantastic at them if you ever decide to pursue it fully! Either way, it's great to see you challenging yourself! Seeing all the comments you get really makes me happy because a lot of people point out exactly how I feel about your work. I'm really glad you're getting the attention & love you deserve. Keep it up!!

Ahh, i'm just glad that it isn't weird that I'm using references so much. I really hope that someday I can draw stuff straight from my mind, but for now I must use references haha
I'm soo glad that you said that it looks like a manga haha. I love the backgrounds that are done in manga books, so that's a huge compliment to me.

Oooh - this is SO good!!!! I am so impressed! All those details are so beautiful, you can't stop looking at it. And this beautiful frame with its rough edges adds even more to the painting and its atmosphere, it's incredible. And I love how you incooperated the characters into the painting, because their placement and their postures reveal a lot about their personality, I think

Yeaah - I believe you, it is very hard without them (especially drawing perspective and architecture!!), so using references is absolutely reasonable!!
