Description
Yes, that is her backup phone, after she dropped the other one in the previous animation.I felt like doing something tentacle related today. I guess this will do, even though I am still not drawing as good as I want to.
Also, for some reason, I fail at keeping things sketchy... It's like I just... can't.
Must... keep... trying...

"Would take a selfie but camera on this thing is busted and I dropped my primary phone when it grabbed me. Happens every time, lol."

Hah, that's me ignoring everything while texting on Skype xD
Why do you want your animations to look sketchy? I think it's better when you have smooth lines, unless you mean you want to work faster?

Yeah, pretty much that.
It took me ~50 minutes to make this, and the drawing quality is rather debatable. I should have been able to sketch it and give it the same animation in half that time, if I was able to sacrifice the image quality.
And with drawing things sketchy, I can make more complex motions in the same time it would take me to just get part of the clean lineart done. Or so I think... I see a lot of professional animators make animation sketches that look good enough to get all the motion and details across while they definitely are very cheap and probably took, like, 10-20 minutes of work tops. And if it turns out ok, I can always polish it.
And tbh, I really like the feel of really sketchy stuff xD
Which I am really bad at keeping sketchy...
To summarize, if I can choose a clean lineart with cutout animation that takes an hour, or a really sketchy animation that is frame by frame that took 20 and looks just as interesting, or possibly more... it's an easy choice.

I understand now. I often have similar problem when I want to sketch whole body for practising poses but end up with detailed head x'D
Maybe try drawing from distance? Maybe if you will not be able to clearly see lines then you won't focus on them. In one of description below landscapes here on DA I once read that artist intentionally took off his glasses while painting to not focus on details

Hm, looking from a distance is a valid point. I used the trick a few times before to plan out some Sherry poses, where I drew her proportion sketch real small, and then just scaled it up and put it where I needed it and drew over it. It is a lot easier to get proportions right and focus on the shape by not zooming in, so I will give that a go.
Thanks

Thatβs very good! I love how smooth it is and not choppy!

Thanks xD
Seeing it's just cutout style animation, it is smooth by default, but choppy animation can sometimes be a benefit, depending on the motion.
Also, welcome to DeviantArt
