You're right. I have always wondered why, when Bill Bixby (or Eric Banna, or whoever), busted out of his clothes, whenever he "transmogrified" (whatever) -- why did he not totally bust out of his pants & underwear? until he would be standing there, before us, in the "au naturel," as the French would say. I guess this is where the "willing suspension of disbelief" would come in. (I.e., the suspending of your inclination to disbelieve what you are seeing before your eyes.)
