I sit here waiting for you,To be embraced with healing arms.
Here I feel nothing
Not the warmth of the sun
Not the touch of love
I fear no death because
I am practically gone.
For these men have
Killed me, hanged me, tortured me
Have torn my heart, my soul
Scarred my face, bled my heart, dried my eyes.
They've stolen my freedom
And given me prison.
I wait for you to take me away,
To come and tell me that I can let go.
Say that my years of suffering are over.
Never have I seen the colours of this world,
Beholded a flower,
Smelt its fragrance,
Watched it dance carelessly in the wind.
Not once have I smiled
Is there even such an action?

I always seem to like the words in the first verse in your poems the most & this one is no exception -
