"Stand down." He had said to me.
Did my beliefs come with a fee?
Am I not allowed to believe in what I wish,
Or must I follow as another in a colony of fish;
Following each other not fighting for the truth,
Why must I stand down with all the other youth!

Do "teenagers" not have enough intellect to speak,
Too ignorant, too naive, too weak?
No, I ask you to stand down,
To listen to me without a frown
To understand that I may be wise
And that I don't rant on with lies.
So just shut your mouth and listen with your ears,
Maybe then you'll understand my words and forget years.
