Description
Again with the steampunk thing. A bit of the old "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".Our explorer investigates the depths of the sea in search of a sunken vessel rumored to hold a fortune in treasure.
Legend has it that the vessel is guarded by an unkown beast.....But who believes in legends anyway, right?
EDIT -
Been getting a lot of feedback in terms of similarities to the video game "Bioshock"
Just to point out that this character is based on the old diving suits worn during the turn of the century.
Thes vintage diving suits were around long before Bioshock.
Take a look -

Obviously Bioshock was inspired by these dive suits.

Amazing work! the composition of colors and lighting are stunning.
and you have managed to really capture the weight and density of the suit and water with his pose and gesture.
Truely excellent work.

Wow, that's great. I love those old diving suits, so the subject matter's got me by the heartstrings going in. But on top of that, the color scheme, lighting, overall atmosphere are amazing. Kick ass, my friend!

I love it when people jump up and yell "It looks like ____!" (Bioshock in this case) If they had seen the artbook (that is free to download..) they would have known the character in question was indeed inspired by old diving suits (the game is located under water, after all)
Anyway, AWESOME JOB! I love the colours so much. Pretty, dusty greens work so well with bright, warm yellows. I love the mix of blurry edges and really detailed parts, they just add to the 'underwater' feel.

Fortunately, I've never heard of of played Bioshock so I knew at once it's a guy in a diving suit. Also, I've read 20,000th League Under the Sea a few times so there was no chance I'd mistake it for anything else.

The fact that the bioshock comparisons come up is just a lack of imagination/memory - rather unfortunate. This is a wonderful piece. Fav'd.

I know this is truly a stupid comment, but I'm left with the bare bone basic of vocabulary when I stare upon this wonderful work of art. FUCKING AWESOME!
And my god, why would anyone connect this to Bioshock? In Bioshock they were gigantic and had drills on one of their hands. o_o
