I can't believe how many people have been mentioning these similarities to me!First is Snake Charmer and Small Fry. Snake Charmer was only recent, and was made a Swap Force character, but not long afterwards I was linked to the official Trap Team poster... and there was Cobra Cadabra. It's not entirely a rip-off, but they are extremely similar.
Small Fry was the one most people noticed. The similarities for this one fortunately stop at the name, but it's still the most obvious. And my Small Fry is a series 1 Skylander too!
Then Tough Cell, ooh boy, Tough Cell. He was made as a Series 2 Skylander and then when playing SWAP Force, I noticed the Flashfin and his smaller counterparts. You can't deny they have an uncanny resemblance to each other.
And then... Trail Blazer... pfft, what can I say? Fire unicorns. They even have the same flame style!
So what do you say? Is it just a coincidence? Or is there something Activision's not telling me?

I won't be actually drawing Series 4 until after Series 3 is done, or after Christmas, whichever comes first. But I do have plenty of ideas lined up, so hopefully they won't take as long.

Cool. Well, I've got the idea of doing 2 cores, 2 Trappers, 2 Minis and 3 Villains per element. Light and Dark Skylanders are a maybe at this point, but you never know.
I just need one Magic and one Life core and I'll be pretty much done with the main elements. I've got some⦠rather unusual Traptanium weapon choices lined up, one of which is a drill. XD

Well that's interesting and with the Light and Dark elements why not do it since we know the villains of those elements by border around they image in the Villains Vault.
Also are you planning to add a Doom Raider of your own per element?

Yeah, Short Cut's cathphrase was the same as Timber Ax's, Landslide and Rocky Roll, Wolfgang & Were-Hammer, plus Sheep Creep & Dragoat. I also looked at some concept figures of skylanders and found one almost exactly like my Spearclops, cyclops, life element, and holding a spear.

I'm just gonna point out a few differences and put up a few thoughts.
Your snake and Cobra cadabra, My be similar in terms of theme. But your character is a Swapper, female, and of a different species of snake. Cobra cadabra is a normal Skylander that is more of the marksman/ranged class. Though probably inspired.
I'm pretty sure the small fry part, is sheer coincidence. I mean small fry is rather a common name, as well as Midnight, Star, and more. I mean I have a character named Midnight, then there's a few other people that have a character with the same name.Β
I don't think they would just add in a fish elementum at the last second (well last 3 months before release date. But still they were probably doing touch ups and what not.). I also think that is sheer coincidence as well.
As for the fire stallions (or mare and stallion). While I'm trying to think logic here, I think Trail Blazer is more into a Nightmare (mythical fire horse) theme, than Flaming horn is. Also Trail Blazer has a armor/metal horn. But I think there is actually chance there that Activision might have been inspired by it.
That and the big leak including most of the characters was at July 12th, 2014. So probably they were inspired from you like on the Snake and Horse parts.

Well this is certainly interesting. I actually thought about this when Popfizz was made, and that was back when my Midnight was a fanlander. Being blue, fluffy, having a form, and being in the magic element. Since Midnight was made in February 2012. You're welcomes.

Even so, the game had been being made since before SSA even hit stores. They had most likely created the Ancient Flashfin LONG before Tough Cell came into existence.

I dunno, I guess I'd expect an entire studio to come up with better stuff. Especially with names. I mean Thunderbolt? Blades? Ka-Boom? Not to mention Thunderbolt is honestly just Lightning Rod with a sword. I mean think of a few of mine; Parallel, Camera Shy, Larva Flow, Tough Cell. I've been told time and time again these guys are better than Activision's own⦠so what's holding Activision back?

I think they're doing fine. I mean, they have their flaws here and there (Ka-Boom), but you've gotta admit that most of their characters are great.

Most of them I'm not overly keen on. But I love Echo. She's gonna be my go-to character in Trap Team for sure. As for Trap Masters? β¦Tuff Luck's super cool.
