Description A lamia from d20 fantasy.

Based on Greek mythology, lamia were a type of vampire. They could change their chape, mesmerize, and create vast illusions.

These are so hard to find in leonine form- I think D&D is the only thing where they look like that . Medieval painters just made them look like innocent seductresses!

I was rather keen on the lamia from the Ironwood rpg setting. In that, they were shapeshifters, able to alter their lower bodies into any animal form they wanted.

Need to climb that wall? Spider-centaur body!
Need to swim across the lake? Fish-centaur body!

That's pretty clever, yeah. Yours is one of the only pics I could find of a lioness version for my RPG thread .

I've done a new piece since I did this one. It was drawn for the Talented Bestiary by Rogue Genius Games.... let me post it, so you can check it out.

Well, the quasi-centaur creature IS a valid mention from a Classical Author, Didorus Siculus, having Lamia being quadripedal, but that was one source, and mentions of Lamia being serpentine both predate and vastly outnumber Didorus.
