Description You could say this picture is a sequel to this one: [link]

This has a FOLLOW-UP now!! Go see! ---> [link]

Sure, the Enterprise and its crew face powerful beings all the time. They get captured pretty much every week. There's no question about that; it happens.

But what DOESN'T happen is for the powerful being of the week being able to take over WITHOUT getting an earful from the captain first.

And then Kirk goes and pretends to give up, while actually plotting a tactic that will save his ship and his crew.

For my fellow McCoy fans, I also did THIS one, with McCoy standing in place of Spock --> [link]
Personally I like it better, but everyone loves Spock, so that's the one I chose to upload.

FUNNIEST COMMENT goes to ~Artema , who said:
"I love that that guy behind Vader is like "Oh shit, is that Captain Kirk? Should I ask for an autograph?" and Spock's got his "Bitch, plz" face on."

(Enterprise is held by the Star Destroyer's powerful tractor beam)
"Spock, your opinion?" (Kirk) "I have no opinion, Captain. It would seem that we are to be boarded." (Spock).
A loud thump is heard. Kirk and Spock run to one of the docking clamps. There, they meet him, the great Darth Vader!
"What right do you have to capture my ship without warning or hail?" (Kirk)
"Don't play coy with me, Captain. I know you and your ship are members of the Rebel Alliance." (Vader)
"The what? Are you an idiot? (Vader fumes silently) "I am a captain of a starship of the United Federation of Planets, and I will not stand here and be questioned about nonsense."
"Don't trick me, Kirk. Several transmissions were sent to this ship. I want to know what happened to the plans you stole." (Vader)
"What plans?" (Kirk)
"The secret plans." (Vader)
"I don't know what the hell you're talking about. Now get off my ship!"
"You are part of the Rebel Alliance and I will get the information I need by any means necessary! Take him away!!" (Vader motions to stormtroopers to take Kirk into custody, Kirk kicks their ass!)
"On second thought, I think I was wrong. You don't have the plans. Lieutenant, let them go. They obviously are not part of the Alliance but they are not part of the Empire, either." (Vader leaves with zombie lieutenant following him. Kirk scratches head in confusion)
"WHO THE HELL WAS THAT ASSHOLE!?" (Spock just lifts his eyebrow)

Haha! Sorry bro, couldn't resist. Great work with this, and sorry for this long comment. If you're pissed, feel free to send me to the agony booth (Mirror, Mirror).

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed this picture! Sadly, considering the fact that I hate and loathe TNG and the prequels with a passion (and I consider neither TNG or the Star Wars prequels to be canon), I don't think I'd be doing a photoshop like that any time soon.

Unless, of course, you wanted to commission me!

Ha! cool! The question that arises when trek meets wars is who would win; Spock or Vader? Two deadly dudes who are both badder than a black whole. Vader's Jedi mind tricks cannot pass Spocks impeccable logic of his ordered mind. Vader possesses cyborg strength while Spock has 10 times the strength of any mortal earthling and a killer immune system to boot. And although Vader has 'telekenisis' and a light saber, Spock came back from the dead!

I like how Spock is standing there like he's Green Hornets Kato, that bad dude in the background ready to take out the opposition as the star hero's right hand man who shadows the hero's back both loyally and professionally. Maybe you can do a piece of both the two long-eared masters: Yoda and Spock, deep in meditation. The photoshop job here is almost flawless to me, like a screen shot of some deleted scene! As a fan of both Trek and Wars I love this piece, and I can already hear the dialouge by there body language- VADER: "I'm warning you Captain!" KIRK: "Screw you vader!"

As much as I would love the idea, and I love this picture, I think that Captain Kirk & Co. are doomed fighting against Vader and the Empire.

A Star Destroyer has twice (about 1000 times) the firepower of a Constitution class starship, and is bigger to boot. In order to even defeat just one of these, the Enterprise would have to resort to tricky maneuvers just to bring down the shields of said Star Destroyer-all the while avoiding the fire from its turboblasters (not turbo-lasers). Such evasions would only be possible if the ship was cloaked, but as Starfleet doesn't generally have cloaking devices due to the treaty of Algernon, the Enterprise is in for a tough time.

Also, another problem is of faster than light travel: the Enterprise has only Warp Nine, while the ships of the Star Wars franchise have twice that and can cross the galaxy in a matter of hours (the FTL in Star Wars is something like transwarp, which the Enterprise of TOS didn't have. Making a fast getaway from Imperial forces would be hell, since it would take the Enterprise years to cross a galaxy at Warp Nine. Unless a way can be found for the Enterprise to have its engines refitted with the hyperspace drives of the Star Wars franchise (and without said engines tearing the Enterprise apart), defeat by Imperial forces is almost certain.

Again, I love your picture.

I figure the Enterprise has as much of a chance in battle (against an Imperial Star Destroyer) as any other SW-Universe ship of the same size and armament as the Enterprise - which probably isn't much. Fans might argue over technology and stuff, but I think the Enterprise isn't much different from a Star Wars ship, weapons-wise. And regardless of technology, the Star Destroyer is MEANT to be able to destroy many classes of ships, so the Enterprise is unquestionably outclassed, just as any Star Wars ship of its size would be.

However, the Enterprise goes up against powerful enemies all the time - even god-like beings. But Kirk doesn't solve his problems with battle; he uses his considerable wits and intelligence to come out on top in the end (which I'm sure he'll be able to do here, too!).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kerevon In reply to Promus-Kaa [2012-04-23 04:37:19 +0000 UTC]

Well, the fact of the matter is a fight between a single Star Destroyer and the Enterprise is pretty even. Unless it's a Super-Star Destroyer, in which case he might have to burst out the old Kirk-Fu.

That said, the Enterprise has ONE major advantage: The Transporter. They could literally beam in a boarding party, sabotage the power generators, and beam back out. This is, of course, assuming that Kirk doesn't try and talk to Vader, who could just force-choke him (it's been shown multiple times in the films that as long as he can see someone, he can choke them, no matter HOW far away they are).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Promus-Kaa In reply to Kerevon [2012-07-22 23:18:16 +0000 UTC]

Very insightful comment! And yes, people always forget about the transporter... not only does teleportation technology NOT exist in the Star Wars universe, but they'd have no way to defend against it. And they certainly wouldn't be expecting it!
