Description I got distracted from XCraft nemeses while I was testing out Jelly Tech on Nyotengu.  I had an idea to try some of the X3 animations again.  The stage is from X2. I made it long ago, but only recently had some ideas to simulates lights better, including the light falloff shortcuts I've done before. Also being armed with new bump map ideas helped too, since much limited source textures.  I haven't done many animations with backgrounds, even then I normally cheat with a static background, but I really wanted it more dynamic to include ambient light and floor specular.

I'm not about to fire up a render farm just yet, but sheesh this took a few days' worth of sessions to bake even at such a tiny sample size & resolution.  No mass production here.  As per usual, I didn't make the animation from scratch, just provide the physics & scene setup.

PS: Not responsible for any potential nose bleeds!

Edit (12/12/2018)
I could stand leaving things in a low resolution, so I did a rebuild.  I added a light, originally intended, and fixed the thigh clipping. Bakes times, now even more brutal

Previously, I did not try to load animation into Blender. How long did the renderer last 43 hours? (I still do not understand arithmetic)

Sounds something like that.  I did not do it all at once. It probably took that many hours at 8 hours at a time, spread across 5 days. :-/   I'd prefer not to fry my computer.

Is it possible to interrupt rendering to continue next time? Somehow save the unfinished project.

When it comes to animation, it's easy since you can set a range of frames.  Do a batch of 50 to 100, then when you come back change the range.   As far as pausing on a single render, it requires some trickery.  I found a way to render only a portion of the camera.  It involves a little math.  Break the camera surface into tiles, and then only render one tile at a time.  You could break a 9 hour render into 9 tiles that took 1 hour each.  Afterward they still need to be spliced together in photoshop or gimp, but that only takes a minute.  It's definitely an advantage over running a computer for half a day.

Other work arounds would involve pausing the Windows process using an app.  Linux can do that by default, but not Windows.

And if I do not animation? Can I save the project in the middle of the render, close it and open it the next day?

You cannot save mid render.  As long as you do a complete section of a render, you save, close and then start a new section when you re-open.

It’s a pity, just the power of my PC doesn’t allow us to render in one move.

I think that's true for a lot of that aren't actually working for a production studio.

Well, at home, I definitely will not create something of high quality.

OMG, those jiggle physics are outrageously amazing!!!

Imagine if DOA actually had jiggle physics like that, just saying.

Nice work, Protocol!!!

Oh, Hell yeah! They really should, man!

I hate to be a bother, But, Mind if I make a suggestion on what pose or animation you should do next time?

You can make one, but I still don't do requests.  Expect typical answer of time & lengthy projects.  It took over 40 hours to do this one, so I don't exactly have plans to do another so soon.

I was thinking you could do one of the jumping poses from DOAX3

Please use Rachel for the pose animation, would be awesome!
