Description
Philadelphia Zoo - 07/09/2004Well, you didn't think that the smack in the face from that earlier pic would be the end of it, did you? Nope, these two kept going at it for some time. This time, there would be no escape.
And who says felines don't like water?

the playful tigers are wonderful, and the water is also beautifully captured.

What a pity there are so many tigers in the zoo club, but for me, this stands out among the rest.

I agree. But I think the spots and stripes contest is encouraging people to submit tiger pics. Plus, people love tigers and tend to take a lot of pictures of them. I'm sure more variety of animals will start showing up there, once things settle in.
And thanks for your comments. When posting photos up, I really do try to look for those that I think are the most impressive... where 99% of the photos I take look just like everyone elses.

Thanks. I see from a quick look at your gallery that you have some wonderful pics as well. I'm definitely going to have to take a closer look at them this evening.

Heh. The closest one to me is pretty boring as well. I was just fortunate to have been visiting Philadelphia for Anthrocon at that time and went to the zoo with a couple of friends. I'm glad we decided to do so.

wow o_o that's so adorable! and the tiger that's being jumped on has such a priceless expression, like he's thinking, 'ah, just leave me alone!' I have to fav this

Thanks for the fav.
And don't worry, the tiger being pounced on had gotten in plenty of good shots of his own. He may look like he wanted to be left alone, but he was still quite full of energy at the time. It was so great to finally see some action, rather than the usual sleeping around that the big cats normally give.

Heh. I totally agree. The expression and the water give the picture all of its energy and playfulness. But I'm not sure if fainting while they are both charging towards you is a good idea or not.

*smiles and nods* Yep. I have to agree completely. Watching animals playing is always fun, and when they are more exotic animals, such as tigers, that makes the occurrence even more special. Thanks for the comments. I'm glad that you enjoyed the pic.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope I can continue to live up to them, for everyone who has enjoyed my photos.

*smiles and hugs* Thank you for the wonderful compliments. As always, timing and a bit of luck always come into play. A difference of a couple of minutes arriving at their enclosure as well as standing at a different location, and it could have been a completely missed opportunity.

Somehow, I imagine you already know tigers like water! Even without people pointing that out, LOL.
Great shot, as always!

*laughs* Yeah, but that's fine by me. I'd rather have people point such things out, in the hope of better educating people, than remain silent and let people stew in ignorance.
Thanks for the comments. I hope I can continue to supply enjoyable pics. Of course, with Spring here, that means more trips to the zoos.

Woo hoo, more animals in my DeviantWatch! I'm so glad that winter is over with finally.
You're welcome

*chuckles and nods* It will be good to be able to open the windows and walk outside without a jacket again. Though I must say, I was rather disappointed with the below average snowfall we had where I'm at. While I love Spring, I do also enjoy my winters being... wintery.
But I do hope to get dozens of great, new pictures over the coming months to add to my page.

Yup, tigers like the water.
This is a great shot, I love the very different expressive faces on each tiger.

Hehe. Thanks for the comments. I'm really glad that you liked the pic. And I agree. The different expressions really make it a more telling image, giving them each a distinct personality. This is why it's great when zoos are able to pair up animals. Their interactions are always great to watch.

Tigers actually love water. They routinely bath in the wild.

*smiles and nods* Yep. But it's fun to think of all the people out there who are actually surprised by this information, thinking of how most felines don't seem to like water. Thanks for the comments.
