Description
My lover found me,a flush cheeked child chanting adorations
He whispered the way home
and sealed the directions with his lips
He cut a ribbon of his hair and tied it around my wrist
then evaporated
His scent comes to me when he is nowhere
He will glimmer in front of me again-
My lover writes across my breasts
the most luscious letters with the most innocent of intentions
He feeds me and keeps me in his bed while he sleeps on the floor;
I can feel his breath even when another is beside me.
I peer over the horizon toward him
out the window he is the haze over the plains
He is mist from the ocean-
Whenever I visit he pulls from his mouth thousands of crystal twines
one kiss
He binds me
from within
while he stands motionless on the earth.
Each time I leave him his twines pull me apart,
ripping for him little bits which he keeps of me
until I can be with him again-
Each time I leave I search for days to realize which piece I´ve lost
It aches into a burning sensation,
twines biting with distance,
inescapable
slicing from the inside out-
It is my secret but the pain is evident
One day he will have more of me than I,
Only with him can I be entire.

I'm glad this is still up in your gallery. I still love it.
I've become quite fond of the wines from your part of the world, mainly Spanish tempranillos and garnachas, but I also enjoy a cool vinho verde on a hot day, and last night I was savoring a glass (all right, so maybe it was more like 3 glasses) of a very nice Alentejano, Vinho Do Mondo '04.
Someday I really am going to visit.

"I can feel his breath even when another is beside me."
That line really gave me the creeps, so bitter*sweet
"Only with him can I be entire."
I'm hoping you'll be entire with *him* soon (although I should admit that I tend to see cities as something female )!

I´ve been working on a piece about the Iberian peninsula, where I take the liberty to write about Lisboa going through a sex change "the big earthquake," and living on as a male.

Self destruction of something female to become re*born as male?

This piece truly moves me.
"Each time I leave I search for days to realize which piece I´ve lost"
Brilliant.
It was one of your photos from the Human Waterscape series that caught my eye, then your statement, "I'm not afraid to put my body where my mouth is" that caught my mind. Now I find your poetry captivating altogether. I will have to to be sure I don't miss any future offerings.

I´m glad it moved you, and it means a lot to me that it did.
Some people think that I write words just to write, making them up... but they are all real-
