Wonderful and serene image. The fabrics on the woman are beautifully done and the swans are so elegant. The different colours in their wings add so much to their appearance. The whole piece is very graceful. Beautiful work indeed.

How long does it take you to come up with each idea? do you do many practise runs before you're happy with your final efforts?

I think about each upcoming piece long before I actually start drawing, so it's hard to say how long it took me to come up with any one. I had this one in mind for weeks.

I've been looking over your artwork quite a bit to learn how you do certain things... and when it comes to the time in artclass where we're allowed to choose whatever we want to bring in to draw, I always print out one of your pictures and try my hand at it. :]
Anyway, about the picutre, the way you do feathers is beautiful. I love the doves especially, I'll never understand how you do such an extravegant scene with watercolors... I'm terrible with them.

How did you get the little wheel shapes in there?

Lifting the color. Ultramarine Purple lifts very easily and with very little effort you can remove the color almost to white.

Oh, I just meant that it looks like you used a lemon or something, because of the shape.
