The only part I'm not crazy about is the heart in the top right - the rest of the card is subtler, whereas the heart is kind of "just in case you didn't notice..." beating you over the head a little.
It's a wonderful piece; your watercolors always amaze me. @_@

beautiful, you must get this alot, but your stone texture is awsome. It has lots of colorful hues, its not just black and white. It may just be beacause its my style and not yours, but i kinda wish the whiter areas in the stone were a bit yellower - complementary to the purple/blue that is, but then again, it'll be a while before i get enough skill to create such nice texture. Then again, it may pull attention away from the heart and the bird.
The thing i like best about your tarrot cards is that their pictures tell the story behind each cards meaning- after viewing some of them, i got curious and looked em up. Anyway, i look forward to your next one! Oh yea, and if you start to feel the strain from doing them, i totally empathize with you- i made a chess set with realistic people for pieces and when it came down to doing the pawns, it was really hard to make all 16 of them- But don't give up, though you seem to enjoy doing this so much, i doubt you're feeling the burn at all!

It is hard, but I take my time with them and let the pieces come as I get an idea for it instead of forcing myself to paint something I'm not interested in. This one for example had to sit around in my head a long while.

yikes! powerful image and beautifully rendered as always, going by the descriptions you've given of the meaning of this card the choice of a swan is a very delicate, graceful creature to show completely betrayed, stabbed in the back and alone to die alone with a broken heart! sheesh! fantastic piece!

This is a beautiful, sensitive treatment of a difficult card. It's always kind of hard to face your querent when the 3 of swords comes up in their reading, and it makes it so much easier if the card is done well. I think your version captures all the pain of this card without making it grotesque, angsty, or overdone.

Wow, this has a much more melancholy feel to it than most of your pieces usually do! I was instantly struck by the sadness of it all. Beautiful symbolism, I especially like how the swan has been stabbed in the back. It really highlights the "betrayal" aspect of the card.
