I don't think that's the first thing that come up into their mind. I think he'd say "HOLY SH*T!!!" at first, but then, he remembers the taste of a good ol'steik.

not a vegan, but it's still pretty unsettling to see how meat is produced.

Oh, don't mind her. It's just Christina. She keeps making new accounts over and over again to comment here. She must have no life. The plant argument she uses is so damn poor. Not to mention hypocritical, since it makes no sense to maximize the amount of harm by killing the majority of plants to feed animals and then kill the animals.

I'm a carnist, and hope to be vegan in the future, but when did plants become more important than animals?! Oh right, never.

Even if she was serious on the plant argument, it still would make no sense to feed the majority of the world's crops to farm animals and then eat the little amount of meat that's produce in return. Animal agriculture is also the leading cause of deforestation (70%), so eating meat literally makes no sense if ones cares about plants.

But she isn't. She's making excuses. At least I don't use those arguments.

I'm sadly not vegan (hope to try it during collage, only 5 years to go), but why do people use those arguments, it just makes meat eaters or carnists in your language, look stupid.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense. At least just admit that it tastes good. That's why it'll be hard for me to go vegan. I'm still hoping to do it in collage. I tried going Vegan once, but I failed. In collage, I'll try again.

As well, plants lack the nerves to actually feel the pain, they do REACT to being cut up, but that reaction is not a sentient one but an automatic reaction.Β If plants should be treated as sentient beings.....so should my game of minecraft.

She would probably cut off a dog's head over mowing the lawn.

Research shows that plants actually feel pain as well.

All the more reason to go vegan, since for every pound of meat produced, up to 25 pounds of crops have been fed to an animal. Animal agriculture is also the leading cause of global deforestation (over 70%), so that destroys even more plants. So by going vegan you still minimize this.

Yeah, but you're still hurting the plants. I am a vegetable rights activist, god dammit.

Then stop eating animals and save the majority of vegetables. And go fruitarian, because then not even the plants die, since you just take their fruit and seeds and not kill the plant itself. Good luck!

Imagine how it feels to feel unavoidable pain every single day of your life. It doesn't just apply to animals, it applies to all living things.

Hardy har har. I may be a meat eater, but at least I don't defend myself with these ridiculous arguments.

Hehe such a logic.
Those strawberries are really tall... Β It's the first time in my life I'm seeing such tall strawberry plants. The ones that I'm growing never reach more than 20 centimeters...Β

This is so true. I never thought of it this way. You always have such keen insight to notice these shifts in behavioral patterns.
