i've only had whimsy for A Day and I've already drawn her crying!! Shame on me--
Whimsy, being an imaginary friend, has one purpose and one purpose only: to be your friend! She constantly wants to be loved, but.. what does an imaginary friend do without a companion?
What happens when someone doesn't want to be friends?
Whimsy experiences physical pain when deliberately ignored, or when someone refuses her offers of friendship, as well as an aching sense of sadness. She won't perk back up again until someone assures her that they want her around, whenever that may be.

She exists to please! If you want her to exist in the real world that much, she'll find a way! As of right now, though, she finds it impossible to leave The Playroom, which is the plane on which she lives.
She can, however, manifest little objects for you!

oh, that's neat! you mentioned how her personality changes due to perception; how is she a friend if someone imagines her to be evil? since her whole purpose is to please and make friends.

She wants to validate your opinion of her! She doesn’t like to disagree with anybody, so if you say she’s evil, who is she to tell you you’re wrong? That’s also where the “imaginary” side of her comes in, since you can imagine her to be absolutely anything!
It IS a little backwards, and that’s where most of her character conflict comes in! Her constant need to please others can lead her down a bad path really quickly.
