The picture was created at 700x350px with 72ppi. Hopefully it can be reduced to the required 100x50px (just divide by 7).

Awww, Don't feel so down when you made such a cool piece!
The idea you had behind this and the way you executed it I think is rad and it works really well for the group icon~
I love the more warm and inviting colors your icon has~
The details lost from shrinking is actually not that bad at all, you can still read it and see the shading you put into the sand and waves.
The only thing would be the chain, but maybe you can go back and fix it up so you don't lose it?
Darken the chain a good bit and it might show more against the sand when shrunk, or if possible work with it in it's 100 x 50px form.
I know it is difficult, but if you can zoom in 200%-400% then it's easier. I zoomed in 800% to make my icon. :0
Just remember to zoom out back to 100% every so often to make sure everything is looking as you want it to.
Also if you have a pixel/dot pen it'll help. It'll be more precise in lining and drawing, though it may take some getting used to.
I hope this helps give you some ideas as to how to tackle the bit of loss you have so you can feel really good about what you've entered!
You're icon is completely different from the one I entered and I think it has a lot of amazing qualities, it just needs a bit of a touch up in it's 100x50 form~

Thank you, but Unfortunately I have a feeling I'm going to be beat out by 's gif animation
which already has been favoured by 9 people. Mine hasn't been faved by anyone.
I don't know how was able to make that animation with such a tiny canvas of 100x50px. When tried to draw mine in Adobe Illustrator an Effect I tried to add pixelated so I had to multiply the dimensions by 7 to get the desired Effect to work. And when I tried to resize it when I Exported it back to 100x50px it looks like it lost some of it's quality:

The amount of favourites a piece has isn't everything! They're both worthy entries in my opinion.
I don't know how she did it either, art is a mystery to me lol.
